Thanks, that is good news!Goldni said:I've already preordered my DS. The EB manager said that the $199 price is only an "overestimate" to cover the real price for when it does become clear what the final price will be. He said they've done it before with several other products before they've launched so far off. It'll most likely be $149.00 when it releases in November. I'll be in line.
Oh yeah V3, I'm just sure that Nintendo must have spent billions of dollars on R&D to put 2 normal LCD screens in a handheld.

Does that show how much you value this rare " gaming innovation" ?
If this was true for everyone, Nintendo is pretty screwed aren't they ?
I mean it must have cost them alot of money, to R&D this handheld with two screens.
No i just don't use my gba enough to warrent upgrading it to something that cost twice what i payed for my gba sp.
unless its something major.

Its not a GBA though, its two screens.
unless its something major.
This is not ? its two screens
Well 2 screens is more important than the ngage 2 .... errr i meant psp
Are you saying they didn't put alot of money ? Maybe not billions, I am sure millions go into that development.
You've seems to take this system for granted. I wonder why ? Is it because it looks cheap or is it because the idea put into this system sounds cheap ?
I won't be suprised if they sunk in as much money as SCE did for PSP to R&D this device.

DS comes right, with GBA compatiblity and backlite screen, I'll save money

Both EBWorld.com and Gamestop.com have added the Nintendo DS to their product lists. They currently have the system listed at a price of $199.99 with a ship date of 11/29/2004. Games are currently listed at $49.99, the same price as most new GameCube titles.
Both sites offer the disclaimer that "these prices and dates are subject to change", but early speculation suggests that the price will indeed land somewhere in the $150-$200 range. As for the release date, Nintendo itself has stated that the DS will be available by the end of 2004.
Jon says: While it is a little high, I think the DS could sell at this price point. Not as well as it would sell at $149.99, mind you, but it would sell. Still, I think $149.99 is the sweet spot for the mass market.
The $49.99 price for the games will definitely not stick. There's no way gamers will pay the same amount of money for a DS game that they would for a GameCube game. I expect DS games to be in the $34.99-$39.99 range, right in between GBA and GameCube games price-wise.
The release date is clearly a ballpark figure telling us, "this product will be released by the end of November 2004". The DS will certainly be launched before Thanksgiving, the biggest American shopping day of the year.
Hmm i though that was the holiday season (christmas) :? Why are people going shopping, i though it's turkey and family time!hupfinsgack said:The DS will certainly be launched before Thanksgiving, the biggest American shopping day of the year.

Yeah, i know, and all the people that preordered Duke Nukem Forever are here to testify that, as living* proofs!Guden Oden said:Surely you must realize by now 99% of the time these companies just stick some date on their websites so all the clueless people out there won't bug them for a release date, or if they still get bugged, have an answer to give in return.
