The Annual E3 Nintendo press conference thread, 2016 edition

Well, I sort of figured that. What I meant is that people more familiar with Nintendo games, do they think that this demo shows the level of freedom to do those things anywhere like in a GTA game or do they think those are probably just specifically triggered events?

They seem to be going full gtaey here, though I like the intention, I find their implementation too rudimentary and dated.

OMG! that wii u zelda trailer is impressive! its like metal gear solid in the "Freedom of engagement" deparment! zrazy

I'm sold, now just gimme Zelda and I'll be sick for a week, the time to play it ;p
It looks beautiful, I assume it's 720, probably 30Hz though...

Now the question is... should I wait for the NX version or not ?!

You might not have any choice on that matter. Depends if they delay the NX further or if Zelda becomes NX only.

From what I saw, in this game you can't cut the grass to get those not-really-worth-the-time-but-surprisingly-satisfying rupees.
Which is good, as there's so much grass in the game.
And the grass does look nice, though the world looks a bit sparse and low in detail otherwise.

It would be a major, major snub towards U owners if they move Zelda to NX only, especially after delaying the game for two full years (because it won't launch before holiday 2017.) I really don't think they'd do that.

What gameplay have they shown so far that shows similar graphics quality to the cinematic unveil trailer back from E3 2014? Last year, the gameplay they showed was ludicrously sparse and barren. I'm still of the opinion the unveil cinematic was almost completely faked and at a level impossible to hit on wuu hardware. :p
