Test Drive Unlimited Screens (XBOX 360)

Not bad, but not great. The shadows are pretty crap. Low resolution, aliased, and simply projected to the ground. No self shadowing, so you get tailpipes reflecting the sun when they're in the shadow, for example.

You must take into account this is a MMO driving game... Seems a bit more impressive now aye? ;)

I'm not saying your criticism isn't warrented. But sometimes things can be more impressive when you know the whole scope of things. Like I wouldn't expect fighting game quality character models in an action game with 16 plus players for instance...

I'm just curious... does this game take place in Hawaii? The plates are from here, and I got all teary eyed for a sec...

The MMO aspect really interests me. No matter how it looks (looks fine to me, not really wow), that gameplay aspect makes this game very appealing to me.

Yeah it's Hawaii if I remember some old article correctly.

Graphically I think it looks very good but I've not been impressed with the way Test Drive plays since its Amiga-days. :)

The game is set on one of the islands (main island or others I don't know). I do know that it supposedly replicates the entire island and you can drive all around it, hense the "MMO driving game" moniker others are using.

Well then it seems like it takes place on either Maui or the Big Island. I'm on Oahu now and nothing in any of those pics looks familiar.

Look at the white line - thats staying a consistent colour and not expanding further into the screen.

the direction of blurring is parallel to the line, this make sense: you run in a street

yes it is motion blur, look at the trees

Edit:
this is an image without motion blur look at the ground
