All Red Factions are on 75% off on Steam Today ! Red Faction, Rad Faction 2 and Guerilla : All together at $10 ! I am getting it I guess !
I hope all of them support the controller ! Any confirmations on that !

EDIT: ummmm...maybe I should just buy Guerilla for $5 ! :???:
EDIT 2: Bought them all :D ! The old ones seem to be really good games from what I read around the net !

They are good games!
I loved drilling tunerls in first one

I already have Guerilla but bought RF1. Found a nice source port called PureFaction with widescreen support. Fun old school game with that cool geometry deformation.

Guerrilla is an excellent game similar to GTA and Just Cause but set on Mars and with lots of blowing up structures. Definitely recommended.

If you go to Red Faction II you see
Notice: Direct X 10.1 ATI video cards or Direct X 10.0 Nvidia video cards are not supported.

wtf? Does that include DX11 cards as a result?

WHAT !?! Oh ! Damn ! So it won't run on my PC? :devilish: That is so bad ! Steam already knows my hardware, they could have just thrown a pop-up when I was trying to buy !

EDIT: RF1 works fine, though there's limit to reso;ution. I will try Prefaction to see if I can go above 1280X1024. As for RF2, it gave me a message saying my GFX card is below requirement, then I clicked on setup, fiddled around and relaunched the game and now my GFX card is ok for the game  ! But it threw up a message that I have less than 8MB of RAM, which got solved with this patch here ! So, the game booted up and I played a Bot match and it worked fine, but yes the resolution is very low.

Would like to run it at 1920X1080, my native res. But thank God it works, otherwise I would have been seriously gloomy for today ;) !

WTF, indeed. How can they even release a game today that doesn't support DX10 cards? That's idiotic, and incomprehensible. The people behind this game must be completely incompetent.

It's an old game Grall. But no less incompetent to release the game on Steam without ensuring that it works on modern PCs.

It doesn't mean the game won't work. It most probably will, with no problems.

Usually, it means e-mail\phone customer support won't help you if you have a recent graphics card.
Kinda makes sense, as the game was already 5 years-old when DX10 cards came up, and since it was never a big success, they just didn't bother to validate and support the compatibility with the new API.

Red Faction 2 works fine under Win7 x64 dx11 card
heres a list of resolutions it offers (dont know why it wouldnt offer 1080p it offers 16:10 aspect)

FEAR
FEAR Perseus Mandate
FEAR Extraction Point
FEAR 2
FEAR 2 Reborn DLC

$9.99 super combo

So the Steam summer sale is on for the next 10 days. Some seriously good games on sale today like Witcher 2 and Portal 2.

Wow...Duke Nukem Forever just came out and it's in the 2k games complete pack. I might have to pick up that pack as I haven't played Mafia II either. And this will get me a digital version of my beloved X-COM: UFO Defense and X-COM: Terror from the Deep. :D

Regards,
SB

Holy bejesus that's a good deal, didn't notice that one. I think I'll get it just because it has Duke, Civ V and Mafia II!

I wonder how well Crysis 2 would have done during such a big sale. Oh well. I bet some of the higher ups at Crytek are (quietly) seething.

Damnit, Square Enix summer pack is making it really hard not to accidentally buy Arkham Asylum :/ So many decent games I never took time to play though ...
