I should see more high quality videos of that game, but so far it hasn't really shown me much more than Forza 4 at 1080p. And just for the record, I think Driveclub looks very underwhelming also.

I think you need to check more images/videos, the game is good looking.

I don't really care about images/photo modes or in any way cherry picked images. I want to see direct feed high quality gameplay footage and so far I haven't really come across to those. The best footage I've seen so far does not really impress me. Perhaps I've missed some videos? I've seen the off screen gamersyde Laguna Sega videos and... maybe it's the track...

It is the track, just look E3 gameplay (direct-feed or off-screen), and it was running on Xbox One hardware.

We are having the exact conversion from last gen except minus terms like TrueHD.

I think as long as the standard HD resolution remains 1080p, we will continually revisit this topic with sub 1080p games while moving forward the conversation will be tweaked to accommodate 4K and 8K.

Sub 1080p and upscaling simply alleviates some of the resources necessary to push 1080p that can be readily used in more beneficial and tangible ways. Unless either console readily becomes cpu limited, 1080p won't be a primary focus of developers.

Take a look back at last gen and remember cod 2 and pefect dark zero and now games like halo 4 and gta 5 . The difference is night and day. I expect the same this generation. Rushed games for launch don't really phase me.

The E3 footage had high precision object motion blur, so I don't think that is a good indication of the current platform's capabilities,
Of course, this was before the GPU and CPU overclock, but still..

Ryse looked fantastic during E3, the scale for example was really impressive. Also, let's not forget that Crytec is making it: if they sacrifice resolution then it's because they want to implement even more effects.

The E3 footage was playable.

Just like Unreal Engine 3 in current gen, I guess that CryEngine "nextgen" (in Ryse) will evolve and we could see Ryse 2 @1080p.

*ahem* let's not go digging up old topics that have their own threads and try to keep on topic in at least this thread. Or should I just close it now?

Deja-Vu, all over again

Was it playable on a retail kit, dev kit, samey pc, etc. Obviously the first would be the best.

Dev kit/retail unit, both are the same thing because every retail unit can works like a dev kit. But no, it was not played on "a pc with the power of Xbox One".

Are you expecting some downgrade? Honestly.

Just being curious, also have we gotten any confirmation that the actual dev kits and not the indie ones are exactly the same?.

Retail units used at dev kits was not going to be ready for launch, but they are coming. Except there was no time given.
