Sooooooo, it's 6:25 Texas time, what happened?!?!?!

Anyone know the results of the ATi overclocking competition?

Did they release details of the new Bullhead motherboard?
Did they drop the R520 bomb?

The competition ended 25 minutes ago, soooooo anyone?

You'd think with all the computers they got, one of them would get on the net & type what went on, but I guess not. :?

Maybe they are having difficulty getting their jaws off the floor still. Or, perhaps, they are snoring on said floor.

Or maybe they had a mishap with macci's LN2 and everyone is frozen...

im guessing by the lack of news, no one broke the recods, which is to be expected since they are using overclocked r420s.

...or ati was giving out those "portfolios" that macci had last time to everyone and everyone is now examining it...

if you havent seen the portfolios that macci posted way back when, they were giant binders with bottles of alcohol in them

Sounds like my kind of fellow. :)

I find it rather ridiculous that this is all ATI could muster. You'd think they could at least put forth a competition that was based on scores that were dependent upon the graphics card. I mean, if AMD had been the sponsors, this competition would have made sense. This doesn't.

Well, I'm not saying something like this isn't impressive:

It's just that it'd be a bit more interesting if it wasn't at least 3DMark03 or 3DMark05. Apparently those benchmarks are too GPU-limited for ATI to compete without SLI. I mean, you'd think they'd at least go for these more modern versions of 3DMark and use somebody else's form of SLI.

its not about graphics tho. its about the a64 ati chipset.

You can read this @ Ati.com:

world champion overclockers will compete for the world record in 3DMark05 using ATI and partner hardware.

"Compete for the world record in 3DM05", I wonder how they'll gonna break this with only a new mobo and one X850XTPE 512Mb card.

Btw, what's current wr in 3dm05?

Good question, as well as the "are there any FM approved drivers that support SLI" as I'm pretty sure ATi could say they meant the official record using certified and official drivers.
(I'm not trying to be weasely here, I'm just pointing out that they very easily could be.)

If there are no Sli FM approved drivers then Ati has the (official) world record already haven't they? ;)

Should make it pretty easy for the world's best OCers to do then using ATi's latest hardware, don't ya think? ;)
