Sony PlayStation 5 Pro

Leave it to Sony to have a feature like that and not explain what it does a week from launch
There's probably a reason they're not touting it.. from the supposed comparison, there's little difference.

Bloodborne comparison:

To be fair, perhaps Bloodborne is not supported and thus no real difference.. but still I'm betting it will result in very slight differences overall.

Interesting. So launch TFLOPS is 16.7

Hmm so that puts final boost clock speed at 2.18Ghz.
Probably 2.18ghz for general compute functions and up to 2.35ghz for specific modes, BC and possibly ML upscaling (to reach about 300 TOPs). There could be others modes in between.
So from 512mb ddr4 to 2gb ddr5.
Exactly like I expected.

50W higher power consumption than launch model which was 340W for the digital model. Holy smoke.

we know the 16GB are not all available for games, some reserved for OS still, so those additionnal 2GB are only for video capture ?

Some superficial tests of some titles.

Numbers for elden ring:

"Caelid with a lot of monsters (that crazy big dogs and soldiers fighting)

RT off and Prioritize Quality: FPS between 52 and 59, average 54

RT off and Prioritize Frame Rate: FPS between 57 and 59, average 58"

I said it before, even with the pro, it wasn't going to run at a stable 60. The base PS5 could run it at 60 no problem, but their dynamic resolution is trash. Also, the dynamic res floor is 1620p, which makes it even worse.

It should be PSU spec. Actual power may be half of the PSU spec. Pro is around 190~200W.

MH WILDS seems to have stable 60fps?

How does the Boost mode work??

36 CUs more than 2.5 GHz?

Wasn't this game CPU limited? Also that isn't a stable 60. More like 50-60 fps. And that's really troubling, as that would mean that the base PS5 is actually GPU limited most of the time in performance mode. How is that possible, it looks like 540p??
