Some things about NV30 and other stuff

Yeah! don't believe anything what I say!

(sigh... I am so sick of all prehype. Maybe combination of Avalanche & Parhelia failures and success of R300 was too much.)

damn I need a good vacation but I don't have possibility to have one before christmas.

You don't really think I meant u, do u?

I meant Sage.

ugh, of COURSE its not based on Rampage! yeah thats why all the old 3Dfx engineers arent getting to work on it! remember how when 3dfx was baugh out the engineers were divided up into two teams (both nVidia and 3Dfx engineers were split up so that each team would have a less biased opinion) that each had to argue for the nVidia and 3Dfx tech? ok i guess most of you didnt even know about that so how could you remember it. well guess who had the most convincing argument?

besides it doesnt matter anymore what its based on, i just wanted you to marvel at the joys of M-Buffer :D

Come on...

I'm not sure which contact provided you with this information, but it most surely didn't "go down like that," if you will.

What you just described is (if my memory serves me) what David Kirk described took place shortly after the acquisition, so it's not as if this isn't public knowledge.

In any case, we're not talking about a situation in which one team was fighting the other, in terms of approach/philosophy/design...They were merely trying to go about merging in different ideas in a constructive manner.

The interesting thing (at least to me) will to pickup on certain aspects of NV30, to see if you can get a sense as to which camp the 'thing' was likely pulled from...be it nVidia, ex-3dfx, GigaPixel...

It may very well turn out that NV30 is a drastic change from their previous offerings. We'll just have to sit by and wait for the official poop.
