I don't know how MGS: TS is selling in the U.S or Japan. I haven't seen total sales of games since it was released. But here in the U.K its selling billiantly fom what I can see. It was sold out everywhere when I tried to buy it on release. My local GAME, HMV and three other independent stores I looked at were all sold out. Amazon was sold out, so was Play.com, Gameplay, SimplyGames ect I finally managed to buy the game a few days later as one local store got more stock. But everytime I look around in game shops (I work right next to a massive indoor shopping center so I'm often in there looking around on my dinner beak) its either out of stock or in stock then out the next day. Even now weeks after its release its still going out of stock regularly and HMV have it in there best sellers section. So it suprises me quite a lot that its doing so badley in the U.S and Japan, if that definitely is the case. Although it initially suprised me at how well it was selling here. After all it is just a remake...

Remember Rare was thrown away because Rare games did not sell anymore.
Rare were sold because they wee barely releasing games anymore never mind selling them. Star Fox Adventure sold well though AFAIR. Or at least ok anyway.
There's no way SN can be discarded because of poor sales from ED and MGS. ED was the first in a new franchise and was just one of those great games that slip through the cracks sometimes.
MGS was a exactly what ED were asked to create, an updated remake of MGS. If it doesn't sell then its not really SN's fault. You have to be far more patient then 2 games with such a talented developer, especially when there games are getting/have gotten such good reviews.

That's because they're starting development for for nextgen, which they've confirmed. It makes perfect sense actually cosidering development times for nextgen games will be even higher than current gen.
The studio is currently creating software for other platforms.

er, that's not really a good thing for the Cube tho is it? it all points toward a more barrent landscape for titles on the lil box. and merely highligts the reduction in support already.
F5 is a fairly small team. They can't work on multiple projects at the same time especially nextgen projects. Let's say they decided to work on another SW game for GCN and don't finish until mid 2005. How are they going to complete a nextgen launch game for N5?
Some people are just blowing this news waaaay out of proportion for whatever reason(s).
It's just logical and makes sense just like how developers moved games in development for N64 to GCN

Probably :\ Stupid Konami USA and/or NOA... If there was one game that was ridiculously easy to advertise - there you have it. Kitamura pretty much did all the work for the advertisers. They could have shown ten seconds of that Gray Fox vs. Rex fight, and I'm betting the game would sell 10x as much as it would right now with, no commercials whatsoever.MGS I think will probably qualify as a huge flop.
