Very silly and pointless. Resident Evil can carry over into the more action-y hybrids and full-on lightgun games if they want, but Silent Hill...? That, IMHO, would just sully the brand.

If they really want to make games like that, they should use a different branding and different stylings that are more fitting to the genre. Silent Hill has always had exceptional creepiness that just slowly seeps into your soul, without all that "EEEK A MONSTER!" syndrome.
