Shoe repair

I've had the same pair of shoes since the dawn of man, and at one point i ended up accidentally tearing a hole in the toe of one of them. I assume the material is suede, they're adidas shoes, and was wondering how to go about repairing it. I've looked for almost a year now for a new pair but nothing meets the same standards as them. Is this something I could take to a shoe repair establishment and they could, say, sew it up? Any suggestions?

Back when I skated, my best friend was Shoe Goo, a silicone adhesive that's as durable as it gets wrt shoe repair (afaik). However, if looks are important (I'm assuming so with suede Adidas) to you, then this probably won't work. If there's enough suede remaining, you can try and apply the goo to the inside, but eventually you'll probably cause it to ooze out at least a little. If looks are important, I doubt you'll find anything as economical and comfortable as a new pair of skate shoes. ;)
