Shadow of the Tomb Raider [XO, PS4, PC]

Targets 60fps on the 1X. Wonder if it'll target 60fps on base consoles Xbox One, PS4.

 

Apparently 4k/60fps on the 1X and coded primarily for the 1X in mind? How very interesting, wonder how the 1S version would run in comparison.

 

Maybe just leave a framecap option in there for base folks + VRR support.

Yes, that seems to be it. Looks like the Xbox One X version is going to be the most advanced. Not the lead development platform, but more like they are going to use the extra capabilities of the hardware with specific optimisations, but all versions are going to be optimised for the hardware.

 

the second one is excellent as well! from what i hear in the next installment she will finally put on her traditional lara croft outfit again.

 

Does that mean a separate lighting pipeline for the X only? Not even PC? If the screenshots are representative of the new lighting system then it's not really differentiating itself from Rise I must say. Maybe they haven't shown us that new lighting yet I suppose.

 

The old TR outfit? Somehow I doubt it. Games are serious now, and the old TR outfit is silly, fun, impractical as hell and sexy. Aren't those attributes (in particular the last one) all considered to be beneath the medium's capability for creating art now?

Bummer. Was hoping the game would be 60fps across all platforms. Wasn't expecting it to be true 4k60. 30fps is shit.

They are never going to do much extra for any platform, they need to have one tool chain and one engine for all platforms. They may have a marketing agreement with MS (like always) and may be hyping the X version per the MS agreement, but anyone who expect vast differences is just wishful thinking.

Just kidding. Then again, who knows maybe they'll actually do it. I sadly know a few friends in RL that would gladly pay it for a classically proportioned Lara with classic outfit.
