Rise of the Tomb Raider [XO, XOX, X360, PS4, P4Pro]

Lol, you can play with 5 Lara models from older games. I hope the screen below is real.

No mention of any tiny degree of graphical improvement? I am disappoint. If this is not running a setting or two above the Xbone then I don't see this worth buying since I already have the XBone copy. I wish Sony would announce the Neo already so publishers can start talk about their games on it.

Maybe they'll change her face again.

But you'll probably just get similar differences as the TR: DE versions. 1080p cut-scenes, better shadows... Maybe they'll go up to 60 fps again in anticipation of Neo-san.

That's an interesting thing to consider. Sony is mandating that all games have to support Neo from now on, so this shouldn't be an exception.

Yep, the major flaw in the presentation is aliasing. If they can also improve that on PC and/or X1, it'd be great.

Where's you find the details on the addition of temporal AA anyway? I can't find anything about it.

Just eyeballing it from the IGN video (there's like 20 minutes of it).

It doesn't seem to be as good as the TSSAA used in The Division/Doom/Uncharted 4 but it seems like an improvement than the one used one X1/PC. I mean, it's such an obvious thing to do with the way this game shimmers... I think it'd actually look really good if they fix the aliasing problems.

Game will be $60 USD. It's similar to a "game of the year" edition that includes all of the dlc. Will be interesting to see how it does.

Poor at best. Word of mouth was never great, it was considered a let down relative to the previous game. Sounds like the screwed the story up and still fail on character development. They did properly integrate Ubi's open world collect-athon model for those who enjoy that. Then it will be a year late in a crowded holiday season...

Played the game on PC and i thought the exploration was the best part, found the combat and story worse than the original which i liked for what it was (even though it's more Uncharted than Tomb Raider).

Oh, and forget what i said about TAA, it's probably the horrible youtube compression in the IGN video + strong moblur messing up with me. Here at 4:25 in the house scene you can clearly see the background shimmer

They still have time to fix it but they probably won't if they haven't already.

If it's because of a specific feature of the engine (if they render some geometry at 4x lower res), AA won't help much.

I guess the PSVR and zombie mode makes this a must buy for me now :D
Yeah, this is a bit of a fly in the ointment for me too. I was planning on getting it on Steam as soon as it dupped under £20.

I'm really not sure what they hope to achieve with PSVR in this game. It's a 30fps game which means they're going to have significantly reduce the graphics to run in PSVR, and then the motion isn't likely to work particularly well unless the player view is changed to something more overhead based like Luckeys tale.

The game supports stereoscopic 3D which is a much better option for this genre IMO, if for no other reason than the perceived resolution loss in VR. That's why I prefer watching films and playing games on a TV/monitor vs virtual cinema.

The VR is just for the mansion chapter.

Maybe a big part of the view is blocked by default.

...for reasons. ;)
