The richest man in the world and self-professed number one Diablo IV player plans to fix the hobby by taking development back from massive corporations and returning it to plucky startups like his $50 billion xAI. But he had us at AI, right?. Here's word:

If we gotta see a gaming company try and totally AI games and "revolutionize" the gaming industry away from big corporation I can't think of anyone I'd love to see fail at it as much as Musk.

I’m not going to say I hope he actually goes through with it – it’s a stupid idea that will, realistically, do more harm to the industry than good – but if he does, it’ll just be proof that the whole concept is a non-starter. We saw this with the rise and fall of NFT games, which despite capitalising on hot new tech, have largely been looked at with derision because they’re moronic. The same will happen here.

Speaking of energy. I think there simply aren't enough hours in a day to be able to pollute twitter with thousands of nonsensical messages, fly to seemingly every conference/party/event in the world, grind to the number one Diablo 4 player spot, provide serious leadership to 5 or 6 major corporations, and helm this new fantasy government department, without some major corner cutting/bullshit going on.
