Red Dead Redemption

Red Dead Redemption getting free co-op DLC this June:

The "Outlaws to the End" Co-Op Mission Pack will feature six multiplayer missions and be compatible with 2-4 players. The free download will also add Trophies and Achievements for players to unlock. (For details on some of the missions, click past the break.)

In addition to the free co-op mode, Rockstar Games plans on offering two additional downloadable content updates "over the summer." It's unlikely that these offerings will be free, however, as the press release carefully notes "pricing" will be announced in the future.

But the shown graphics make me a little bit nervous (and the fact that only the Xbox360 version is shown )...I hope that the PS3 version can keep the pace, I maybe even buy the Xbox360 version if necessary!

A reviewer with PSM3 Australia made positive comments about the PS3 version of the game in the RDR thread on the neogaf forum.

I love videogames. They connect me to characters and stories like no other medium can. Red Dead Redemption makes me feel, but it doesn't always take me places I like. That's awesome. As we have these arguments about what a game is and if it's art and yadda, yadda, yadda, it's profoundly interesting that a fictional guy in a fictional town can make me feel so many things so genuinely. I can't wait to play Red Dead Redemption, but I also dread it in a way. I know that I'm going to have to see those beaten and violated women again, and I know that I won't be able to save them. For someone who wants to save whatever world he's in, that's a hard pill to swallow.

Still, the people of Red Dead Redemption need a hero, and I'm going to be there for them.

heads up... Buy.com $45.99 + free shipping

Thanks, just ordered it from there. It'll take a few days to get it from this pre-order, which means RobertR1 and Scott_Arm will probably have already finished it twice before I get it :( But I wouldn't mind trying this one online in a B3D posse.

Not this time. Going to run through Alan Wake once before starting this up :)

sweet... I may have to get into a posse if we get some players here

Decided to hold off on Alan Wake for a bit and play this first... Halo beta will end right on time for this

Just put in a pre-order, it looks and sounds to good to be true. Not the biggest sandbox fan, guess I'll find out on the 21st. Which is the release date here in Norway and the timing is good for me, 19-21 I am on a seminar :)

Ohh yeah, Posse sounds cool

more info on the MP targeting

Is there auto aim on multiplayer for RDR?” – received via Twitter

Like the single player game, there are three targeting modes available to choose from: Casual, Normal and Expert. Casual is full lock, Normal snaps-to-target but does not lock on, and Expert has no assist. You can configure your own personal targeting to suit your preferences in any game by using the multiplayer playlists in the menu.

For Competitive games, there are Casual playlists for all game types that are exclusively Casual targeting mode, or that allow players to mix it up and play against each other across a variety of the three targeting types.

There are also playlists for Gang Matches and Free For All games which allow players to use Normal or Expert targeting together (but not Casual).

For advanced players that prefer to strictly play against other free-aimers, Hardcore and Veteran playlists that exclusively support Expert targeting can be used for all Gang Matches and Free For All Games.

It’s also worth noting that honing your multiplayer skills with the more advanced Normal and Expert targeting styles will reward you with bonus XP to level up faster than those using Casual.

So is this just like GTA4 in the West? Cause I'm not down for that. It needs to not be just a huge open world game, GTA4 with a Western skin...
