r420 NDA expiration?

Correct me if I am wrong, but May 4th or 5th is the likely date. It seems that April 26th is no longer valid.

The Wavey One would know for sure. The only problem is that Dave speaks like Alan Greenspan and getting a straight answer is difficult

The Mercury Research numbers on market share data should begin leaking tomorrow. I will be surprised if ATI does not pick up 1 or 2 % points.

This is my first post...I have been lurking for a few months.

Heh, you stole my silly comment except I was going to say "4:20". Ah, happy times...

ATI have Editor's Days on and around the 30th, for briefings and the like on the new part.

A week or so of lead time, post Editor's Day (for U.K. editors anyway) seems like long enough ;)

Slightly OT, but I found some more speculation on R420, which seems completely off base if you notice the 3 things that I did :)

Talk about completely off base, notice the memory speeds of GDDR3 for the top R420 cards: 250Mhz/300Mhz/300Mhz. Completely and totaly wrong.

They just don't apparently realise that 500mhz gddr3 is actually 500mhz (meanwhile they do have gf6 rated at 550mhz)
They also are suggesting r420 uses 16 vs units (which would be an interesting possibility re shader integration) while what's previously been said is '6' (presumably for the 12 pipe model)

No wonder they call it winhec. If I had to pay 1195$ to sit around for days and listen to stodgy guys talk about windows I would be saying what the hec also.
