Quantum Break [XO] (by Remedy) *large images*

Couldn't really get into it when watching it the first time on stream as I stayed up the whole night and barely got any sleep so everything was coming across really boring. Got around to re-watching the gameplay on youtube (much better quality too) and man this game visually, looks amazing. Remedy did an fantastic job there.

Gameplay wise I can see why it comes off little generic. Some people have gotten over the usual cover-based TPS genre but personally I liked what I saw. But this is coming from a guy who loves and still plays Gears of War so I guess I'm still a sucker for those types of games. :p

The time-warp effects and physics of the explosion shockwaves is cool. But the thing that really struck me was a visual incorrectness! When the truck smashes through the gate and time stops, we see spark trails. But spark trails are an optical/photographic illusion, and we should see just the sparks.

...

I'll get my coat.

It looks cool though :p
That's what most of these games aim for anyway.

Also Remedy continuing the trend of making their protagonist wear out of fashion jackets, they did it in Max Payne and Alan Wake

He seems to be wearing old-school Vans though, which I'm ok with. The whole ensemble looks a little shitty.

I'm almost willing to bet you that Remedy has tried realistic sparks at some point. However they'd be unrecognizable for most of the audience, decades of movie experience have pretty much hard coded it into our brains that sparks are streaks.

Also, there are plenty of other visual effects on top of the frozen objects and people anyway, so you could try to reason that the effect captures a short segment of time and not a single point...

I watched the trailer twice now and I must say I really enjoyed it.
The graphics are amazing ofcourse. The gameplay is right up my alley too.
It does bring Gears to mind which is fine with me but the use of enviroment as a weapon really excites me. I also liked the use of time control the trailer gives me the impression that it can be used on individuals or on yourself as a type of stealth. The melee combat looks like it could be fun if it isnt the equivalent a quicktime event. Did they announce a release date?

Just saw the Gamersyde off screen demo: Bravo Remedy bravo :D ! Those mind bending effects during the mini boss fights are awesome !
Visuals are top notch, this is 'The Order' of Xbox ! Wonderful play of visuals, the way you see ripples in objects and the last mini boss fight ! Too much grain for my taste, but beautiful IQ and CG like lighting on the main character !

Some stuff felt illogical, like Joyce was stopping time and running in an area where time had already stopped :p ...thats not digestable at all ! I can undertand him throwing those time capsules over the Exo guys to stop their time, but around him time was at a standstill already, how can he stop it again ?!?!?

I don't think he was stoping time , he was stoping their ability to traverse frozen time.

That was the time bubble he threw, but the dash that he does happens cos the time stops and he runs to another position. That shouldn't function where time has already stopped.

I've watched the Gamersyde video and it looks great! I couldn't tell exactly what I was looking at for a fair bit so I really hope they release some gameplay with developer commentary this week.

It is running on ... Xbox One! :-O

Are you able to speak at any length about realistic sparks that do not leave trails when time is stopped, Jack Joyce's choice of coat, or whether any of you are able to stop time to make sure the game depicts time powers realistically?
