[PS3] Uncharted 2

 That's exactly what I did. The second trick you mentioned is what I did. Thank god for easy ways out.

Heh, I was only playing on Hard. I'm not a hardcore gamer so I'm not the greatest at shooters. Weird because I'm usually pretty good playing shooters online but I have great difficulty playing shooters on the hardest setting. I probably could beat it on crushing (I beat UC1 on crushing) but I feel that if I attempted it, I would probably break my hands from punching things.

Beating crushing in Uncharted 2 is harder but I found it more rewarding. Use a pillow to cushion the blows. YOU CAN DO IT!

If all fails, search youtube. There are tricks/tactics that will make it very easy.
1st trick is about hanging from a ledge where he cannot hit you, 2nd is even easier: don`t run away ! Just keep standing by him next to a resin bulb.He will not shoot you. Stun him with the bulb then keep meleeing him until the bulb regenerates. Repeat.

Lucky me, I saw this post right before facing the final boss on crushing! Thanks.

I enjoyed this game thoroughly. This game probably gave me the strongest feeling that I'm in a movie. I was left feeling why not more games are done like this in the past.

Unlike the first Uncharted, the cover system is actually helpful on crushing difficulty because it no longer resets my aim when I pop in and out of a cover. A few places were a bit frustrating for me, but I still enjoyed the crushing run overall.

Yeah I lol'ed at that strip too. Linked to it earlier in this thread.

SonyStyle had Uncharted 2, LBP, MLB 2009, and GT5P running in parallel in their Bravia demo room when I passed by yesterday. It's so full of win. Too bad they didn't show KillZone 2 at the same time.

They're not allowed to by law. Can't have 18+ games.

I know... but they could have shown an edited cutscene :)

One of the TVs were showing a montage of games and Blu-ray movies. I didn't catch KZ2 there.

It's cool that they allow people to play LBP, U2 and GT5P freely though. I saw (old) people asking "What is this ?" when they saw someone playing Uncharted 2.

Crushing is pretty hardcore, it takes skill, it can get frustrating but it's supposed to be hardcore, play it at a lower difficulty if it bothers you that much.

Crushing just requires patience and some thought. Skill is not really needed with cover mode. 99% of the time any problems you run into can be solved by running backwards and taking cover at a prior location and letting the enemies come to you.

Yes but knowing where to take cover and moving from cover to cover...takes skill. You're just a skillful gamer Ostepop! But I assure not everyone does it as well as you.

FINALLY beat the game. I'd put it down for about a month and was only 30-45 minutes from the end. Graphics really are amazing, start to finish. I thought right near the end I'd started to get a little tired of fighting infantry guys, but overall, the gameplay was great. Didn't like the end boss fight, but did like the sequences right after. Very solid game. One of my favourite SP games this gen. Wasn't blown away by the story, but the script is really good for a game. I kind of wish this one had sold five million copies or some other crazy sales number. Pretty much anyone that owns a PS3 that plays games should have this game.

I actually found Crushing on U2 far easier than crushing on U1.
That seems to be the general consensus. I'm currently playing through hard mode and it is easier than the first one. In the first game when you got to an area with baddies you could expect to fight 2-3 waves of lots of them. There isn't that much pressure in the sequel. Which is all fine with me since I don't like shooters, I'm just playing the game for the big budget presentation. And oh boy does it deliver, the visuals are the best on consoles and the helicopter sequence was jaw dropping.

I beat it on Normal and Hard and there definitely seems to be some parts that are easier on Hard, but overall, Hard is definitely harder -- especially the later levels and the last boss.

Just beat it on Hard. It is easier than the first game for the better since the first game put too much pressure on you. The last boss was a wuss although I did enjoy the way you beat him instead of seeing how many bullets you can stick in him like with those annoying Shamballa guardians.

The fake out with that character's death got me haha. I was getting so pissed that they killed off that character that was a good fake out. Even though I'm not a big fan of shooters the characters are fun I hope this franchise continues for many games and handles the transition into movies well.

Significantly easier even: you can take more hits (U1 hard is like U2 crushing in terms of health), grenades are more useful and plentiful, enemies take fewer hits, it's easier to use environments to your advantage, weapon handling is tighter, your buddies pull quite a bit of weight and stealth is both incredibly effective and user friendly.
U2 is also pretty much devoid of cheap level segments such as the water room in U1, plus grenade launcher enemies aren't nearly as accurate.

I had a lot of fun with U2 on crushing.

I must admit Water room was pretty hard in U1. You get flanked from 360 degrees in a mostly open space, which can make things hard unless you manage to finish the enemies fast enough.

U2, no 360 degree flanking as far as i can recall, which makes life simple(r)

This is what I liked about U1... enemies would often spawn from behind you, which meant you had to change cover a few times. 'Bullet-sponge' enemies also meant you might have to scrounge ammo off corpses mid-fight, which again got you out of cover. U2 'solves' these issues, so it's much simpler to find a good spot of cover and move away from the occasional grenade.
