That was pretty funny in a sad way. I remember being frustrated with the install/loads in MGS4, but thought it was ok for most other games in general sans Ninja Gaiden Sigma which loads mid-level at times (didn't on OG XBOX).
I didn't play R2 and didn't finish FROM. I had a tough time with FPS games on PS3 and tend to be low tier in FPS games in general. If R3 has a decent/good SP campaign, I may pick it up when the price drops (awaiting B3D impressions).
Mass Effect 2 has pretty bad load time too.
R3 SP is great. It's the best in the series. The game is fleshed out in every direction. You should check it out !
The upgradable weapons are fun to use. The atmosphere is like Bioshock (Some say like Half-Life 2 in some parts). The game also has an Extras menu for you to acquire "cheats". e.g., You can buy Health Regen using the in-game credits (earned from your in-game performance), you can also assign more powerful weapons to the Chimeras, etc.
Some people encountered some audio sync issues (hopefully addressed in v1.0.2 patch). I encountered 1-2 scripting bugs. One of them forced me to restart from the last checkpoint. Other than that, it's a fine game. The resolution is low (960 x 704), but the art direction, amount of details in some set pieces, and the amount of effects in combat are very well done.
Probably does test the patience of many. I never understood why full installs aren't an option, but anyway I'll probably buy this and Gears. But now I don't know if I want to get dark souls as well....decisions... decisions.
I agree. Completed the game 5 minutes ago. There are some levels I want to replay again and again. Would be nice if Sony allows me to install the entire game to HDD.
EDIT: Now onto MP.
Actually, the best way to enjoy the game is to think about R2. It will lower your expectation and let R3 guide you from there. ;-)
The game can be difficult towards the end. I dropped difficulty down to Normal coz I have work to do.
