[PS3] Resistance 3 [SPOILER ALERT - Contains R2 story discussion]

You'll see. ^_^

I completed everything on Difficult.

I see what a few reviewers are saying now. Sending James Stevenson a bug report. :runaway:

And I shall see patsu:).
Wow, that
Widowmaker level was pure awesome with so many things going on, the effects were amazing! And I couldn't help but to LMAO at the Widowmaker's testicle esque weak spot as I popped it with my trusty Auger
. Wish there are more levels like that later on.

Heh, same here !

Compared to the boss fights in R2, R3 is leagues ahead. No more invincible fishman underwater. ^_^

Glad to see the Widowmaker make a comeback. In R2, they only got Stalker working at the last minute.

I also like the tunnel scene before the Widowmaker.

This thread is getting dangerous now , I'll stay away now till I start playing it.
My copy is in : SCAN KOELN (COLOGNE), DE, somewhere ! Reach me quickly my Chimeran fiends, I shall bust your faces open :devilish: !

Hm, are they infinite ? I wasn't sure.

If you're at the beginning of 17, then there are still all the tough fights to overcome. ^_^

EDIT: Trying to remember a R3 QTE...

Is it because an alien got too close ? The invisible ones won't just hit you. They will try to bite and you have to use R3 to knock it off. Is that the QTE you mentioned ? ^_^

The QTE is
with that guy at the end of the prison level.
The enemies also spawn infinitely just before that. And also in
the subway in chapter 17. I thought I'd wait until either the chimera or grims died, but that didn't happen. So I just ran past without firing a single shot.
I'm not sure if they spawn infinitely, or merely for far too long. It makes for crappy gameplay, and ruins the immersion either way.

They don't spawn infinitely. In both scenes I just shot them all down untill they stopped coming. They do come in big numbers sometimes, but I didn't mind because blasting them is so much fun.

I kept running short on ammo and life. And there is always a magic door just beyond them that the enemies can't get through. The game then turns into running around and finding the magic door.

I salute you sir !

I didn't even bother to try. Took a gander at the situation. Waited for the ferals to thin down a little, and ran past the level all the way. ^_^

Did the same for the circular underground room where the Grimms kept coming. I found the door and got out of there ASAP.

EDIT: I was thinking "Who in their right mind would stay and fight ?"

Typical Sony, I break down and decide to go out and pick this game up. 3 stores, no product displays, no product.

Heh heh, same at my store here. Good thing there is the Internet.

If you want to jump online, the lag is very bad now. The patch is coming hopefully next week:

patch is being tested, should go into Sony testing tomorrow, which may take a couple days between it going into testing / being deployed

Campaign was fun. Didn't like many of the set pieces or arena battles, but using the guns and leveling the guns was addictive. I found myself often coming back to the marksman and the deadeye. Although it said in the stats I used the shotgun far more than anything else. There were a few scenes I thought were nicely done. Whether it was the draw distance or the amount of overdraw. Can't wait for DF or ps360 to capture those heavy sections because it'll be interesting to see the performance.

I play at difficult. There are no infinite spawns!! I kill them all

Well, just use the secondary fire mode of some of your weapons
(the bio gun + the atomiser gun...just use one secondary ammo at the right spot and you can watch how every grim runs into it...easy)
...then it is simple...but please: never run around trying to find the magic door and let them survive

Using the right weapon and the right firemode for a given scene is what makes this game so good imo!

do your weapon stats carry over on the second play-through? i'm assuming so...

i'm on chapter 11 and i'm liking it so far. it feels like RFoM, HL and a bit of BioShock mixed in. visually it's great but it does look sub-HD at times on my 55". atmosphere, some lighting and weather effects were the standout points for me.

Yes ! It has new game +!!!!

I'm probably going to get the game today by mail. Any advice in regards to difficulty setting?
I've completed MW2 and KZ3 on the harder difficulty settings. Not sure about R2, think I played that on normal. Wouldn't mind a good challenge, though if there's one thing I hate, it's hard difficulty settings making bullet sponges out of enemies and limiting ammos.
