[PS3] LittleBigPlanet 2

PLayed the demo. Liked it a lot, especially since now tools exist to speed up the gameplay like bounce pads and the Hamster contraption. I absolutely loved the Hamster part. Best of the Demo.

BUT they should have shown that now LBP2 is more than just platforming. That is something they just did not touch upon. They should have atleast put the top down caterpillar race level in or something like that. It isn't showcasing what LBP2 has over n above LBP except for the Contraptions.

Read the cover feature in Games TM on LBP2. The devs say that the reason Move is not in LBP2 is cos they don't want just a controller support. They will be getting Move into LBP, but in the sense like where you can make Wii SPorts like titles in LBP  ! They say they held off Move support as of now to support it fully later. It might be a patch, a DLC or even a complete Disc of LBP2 Move edition or something, but it will be in the spirit of LBP where you can actually implement Move controls for your games. Prehistoric Moves is just a demo of one of the ways you can have Move in, but their goal is to let you make Sports Champions/Wii Sports kindof stuff with it.

If they implement that, maybe LBP2 will turn out to be th emust have Move title as that can mean all Move games in One ! :D !

I was saying that a while back, that one of the best things for Move would be to enable it as a Controllinator in LBP2 and let the community experiment. It would certainly be the ultimate party-minigame collection - 50,000 different minigames!

CLOSING COMMENTS

There's no denying that LittleBigPlanet 2 is an amazing game. It's fun, clever, deep, engaging and great to try out with friends. The only issue is that some of the same frustrations from the last game are still present. Still, the ability to make games and not just levels outweighs any con. Even if you just want to play and never create, the fight to Ace every level, find every prize and earn every pin is going to keep you very busy -- and that's overlooking the simple fact of how much fun it is to ping-pong off a column of jump pads or use a grappling hook to swing around a level.
LittleBigPlanet 2 is a blast to play, and that's without the thousands of cool levels people are about to start posting.

Overall score is 9/10

Not to mention great 4 player multiplayer both on and offline, with voice chat and everything ... it's not particularly a given!

Eurogamer's views are very similar. 9/10, held back by aggravating game mechanics in places. It's a shame that side of the LBP universe wasn't so much tighter from day one.

More reviews everywhere, similar scores 9, A- , 10 :D !
I think the jump pads solve a lot of "play slow but precise" gameplay issues of LBP 1. The demo showcased that. Whats better is that one need not be playing a platformer at all !

Yeah, even simple stuff like this is still really impressive, even knowing that there are whole Diablo clones out there as well:

It really makes me look forward to Move support. I wonder if you could do something like Angry birds ...

Definitely. Without Move support you can still adjust launch values intuitively with the left stick describing where you are pulling the catapult.

WoW ! A simple and great game for kids :D !

Looks like OMB is back in the final game isn't it? I think I'll give this game a go and see if I can recreate sackboys in Avatar :).

What's OMB ?

Regarding Move support, I'm still waiting for folks to make use of the light ball damn it. ^_^
Nearest stores ran out of Sports Champions bundle (without the PS3) and standalone Move. There should be people out there waiting for Move to be used widely.

The limited collector's edition (God knows if they are really 'limited' these days) looks pretty nice.
