I can see now why they haven't shown Jungle level,its not really cream of the crop.Looks like something from Gears 2 but i can't figure what...
Otherwise game looks spectacular,only this particular level looks kinda meh IMO.

i got a FPS Gears of War vibe from it as well
 
I found the game really good & impressive... but I don't understood why use again & again so much criticism in this engine from someone... I mean, I think it's just matter of personal taste at the end, why try to convince who thinks the opposite to have more plausible reason in own opinion? :???:

B3D is just overly critical as always or,
taking their rage over the rather disappointing looking fps from another thread which was touted as the best looking console game. Please don't hurt me Nebula, I kid only :).

I think it's just question of taste; I mean there are engine which use custom AA or MLAA ( which it isn't even a true AA filter), but if the result are the same of 4xmsaa, it's badly because use less expensive tech? :rolleyes: If a game not use HDR but the effect it's similar change something? I prefer a graphic like kz3 in a game, then a ton of filter with massive tearing, dips and pop in, imho.

Exactly. As long as the end result looks good that's all it matters. There are tons of games with HDR but still look like a generation behind kz2 & 3.
 
Is there another reason for god-rays?
What I mean is that they're faked, unresponsive to changes in the environment.

No, just look at size of the shadows, they move from buildings [two of them] to the street, its cant be any kind of flag.
It just depends on the angle of the directional light. The flag(s) in question are at the top of the scene, just barely visible in that footage.

I didn't realize the chain gun gave off smoke when firing (1:03)! I don't remember this from KZ2. Was it there in KZ2?

Very nice! Avatar-ish, is the best I can do right now, but I definitely like it. It's original, colorful and looks great.

The jungle level should stand out in the game because it is much more vibrant compared to the white winter map, the grey industrial maps (in KZ2), and the light brown desert maps. Too bad it doesn't seem to have multiple levels. The layout looks pretty simple.

The Infiltrator is the new Saboteur ? Did they make it harder to detect an Infiltrator ? He remained undetected for quite a while.
 
Yea they renamed Saboteur to Infiltrator, its harder to detect them now and they also have double the sprint speed and unlimited stamina and wields the STA-52...the reason why people think he's overpowered.

Ha ha, all the advanced classes seem overpowered.
 
That ign preview on the Jungle level looks amazing! It does remind me of Avatar jungle a bit in the art direction. I swear the deferred rendering is put to very good use here with all kinds of dynamic lights breathing life into this scene and when the depth of field kicks in, it feels like border line CG.
 
I take it back. The MP Jungle level does have multiple levels. Saw an enemy shooting from second level. But it's not as high as KZ2 maps. ^_^

Yes, it's because of the vivid color scheme mostly, and the oddly shaped plants.

The Avatar jungle feels more dangerous because of the poisonous air and the aggressive wildlife. Would be nice if they had added some to the game. Part of the SP level is supposed to be a stealth game right ? I only saw a small lizard in the SP jungle. The SP jungle is prettier, but really all I want/need to see is the enemy AI and how they take advantage of the terrain. All these trailers don't show me much.
 
Maybe because we haven't seen everything from the map yet? But the general art inspiration is there and the environment is quite dense from the SP footage.
 
It doesn't have to be large. I didn't feel that Southern Beach or Salamun Market were small in KZ2. It should be unique. Should have stolen a page from Demon's Soul World 5 and 2 for the sense of danger, and hostile environment.

In any case, my greatest concerns are the MP advance classes and how well they play together. KZ3 will be a great looking game one way or another.
 
The jungle in Avatar also has a great sense of scale. It feels large (well, it is actually large) and dense, with tree trunks the size of buildings. I'm not getting any of that in the KZ3 video.

The area with the huge beast seems more open, but I think some people just can't get over the fact that KZ3's jungle isn't a lush green environment. Some people seem to be conditioned to only accept green-ish type grass/tree environments as a jungle.
