Not destructive/threatening enough: :devilish:
For that size, I expected something like Stalin's Organ:

IMHO, the crab mini-boss in Vanquish is more memorable, partly because of the camera angle.

EDIT:
Although not a FPS, the Metal Gear boss fight in MGS4 is interesting too:

It looked like Stalin's Organ, to me, when it opened fire on that building. That was some serious weapons display! Plus, it looked like it caused some huge explosion before the thermal vents became exposed. It caused the background to give off a blinding white light.

Edit: 8:55 and 9:32

Yeah, but too small scale. The building didn't collapse. :)

For such a large weaponry, they are easy target. Unfortunately, we didn't see any reason to fear them. Same for the R2 Goliath. The R1 Goliath is more interesting/destructive in comparison.

Yep! Thats the problem with these FPS boss fights tgese days. They r a big spectacle but the bigger the boss, more non reactive it is. Goliath is r1 was smaller but more fun to fight as it fought back. Goliath in R2 was much bigger but it was just a backdrop. Shoot at it, move on, shoot at it again. I mean, for a machine so big, the chimera didn't even hide its weak points. No armour platings over its weak parts or any kindof defense.
This KZ3 mech seems like it has the same issues, as big as it is, its just a spectacle , not really a "Boss Fight" ! Though they seem to be addressing the issue by throwing in Jet pack troopers, but then its the Jet Pack troopers that give a fight, not the Boss !

2 days back I was playing tye Chicago levrl of R2. A similat Leviathan "Boss" fight. Mighty as it looked, he was easier than fighting those Ravagers(is tyat what they were called?), the ones with those laser turrets in their hands.

It would be so much more fun if we ride with Rico on those flying things and he drops us off at different areas ON THE MECH and once we destroy the mechqnisms and Helghasts there, picks us up and takes us to the other leg. Slowly, we would make it to tge Head of the mech and set a timer bomb and escape with Rico flying away while tye Mech's head blasts and falls to the ground ! Now that would be a Boss Fight  !

Agree with you 100% I feared the R1 Goliath alot more than from R2. It was actually fun fighting the Goliath from R1. I am all down for the huge boss fight but I want to interact with it in a more open space, and not be limited like it was a back drop.

Hey, you moved the line on me! ^_^ You didn't mention anything about a building before. OTOH, I would've liked for the building to collapse as well.

nextgn leaked the preview code of Campaign footage so watch at your own risk of spoilers. But in case if you do watch, prepare for some PS4 level visuals. I was left speechless in the first 10 seconds.

Thats funny, not that you can see much anyway to make any judgements, but I thought it looked a lot like Killzone 2.

The huge boss is boring too. I know Guerrilla is taking cues from GoW3 with huge bosses, but robotic bosses non-animated like that aren't impressive. That just reminds me of Resistance 2 which isn't good. I want to see some awesome/organic bosses.

I think KZ2 is a good game (campaign), but so far KZ3 is not pushing the right buttons for me. Not that I wont play it regardless day one.

Would love to see HQ campaign footage though.

Well if you played killzone 2 you should see the footage has shown vastly improved particle effects, more particles and explosions on screen, much bigger scale, far better textures, more geometry on screen and better lighting effect.
This is killzone, not GOW so I don't expect boss looking like Cronos in it. But of course you never know they might have something like that in the Jungle level. The Mech itself is looking awesome, kicking up all the dust and emitting particles from the exhausts. The lightning beam is very impressive as it's dynamically lighting up the environment, barrage of rockets causing tons of explosions are also beautiful. The Goliath from R2 is a far cry from this thing in every aspects.
I would love to see the direct feed too but it's really not that hard to tell some of the differences from that footage.

They just mentioned on facebook that the beta is over. Thanx n all!
Can anybody tell if the Botmatch is still playable as was intended earlier ? I am not around my ps3 !

Huh ? What about the super medic class, and other negative feedback ? Will GG address them ?

The Killzone 3 Public Beta Trial has officially ended. Thanks to everyone who participated - your feedback helps us improve the game!

Somewhere someone says that GG said they have gathered enough data to make 6 KZ games  ! :p Whatever that means !

I didn't see any of that. Did you just go down a generic complete list of "things that can be improved in graphics" or do you actually see those? Any specific examples?

The footage is too poor quality to tell anyway.

If watched at the highest rez, that footage is good enough to tell a good deal of what he mentioned (scale and animation being the easiest).

The fire from the flamethrower is greatly greatly improved if u remeber the fire from KZ2. Also, in the beta, you can see the explosions and effects are a big leap ahead of KZ2. Also, the characters look very realistic in the beta, especialy the ISA where you can see their faces. They sometimes made me jump when someone suddenly appeared in front of me. Environments looked like a game, but ISA models are very good.

Lets wait for the direct feed footage from this level. But even in this off screen vid, one can more geometry on screen at a time and lots of dynamic lighting and particles.

Yap, the fire is a significant leap.

The earlier KZ3 snow demo is more fun because we are in the thick of the action in a wide open level. The sea is pretty nice too. Plus we have the jetpack.

This "Goliath" level is more about corridor fighting. It's a pity because when I saw the giant mecha, I was expecting MAG style bombardment (Explosions all around us ! \^o^/). DO IT !!!

Btw, the video has been removed.

At least now there won't be people claiming that low res particle buffers make the particles look better, lol.
Well KZ3 still uses quarter rez alpha buffers, but the quantity used has increased tremendously in the sequel (and they somehow look better).
