hm, yesterday I did not have any problems finding a match? took only seconds until I got into an online game with 10+ people playing?!?

maybe european servers are more populated?

with respect to Black Ops clone...nightshade, can you please elaborate?
because I am not sure how you came to this conclusion?!?

Well, GG / SCEE invited another 5K from EU I believe, and also opened it up to a few countries in Europe. That probably explains the influx of players in the last two days.

Really ? My bandwidth usage is almost done so can't download this month. How long will the beta last? Will it be on next month too? Will Move support come in ?

Move support is almost certainly not in any of the beta builds, as they are relatively old.

This is also why major patches won't hit this beta, because they'll be moved into the final code and worked on there, as opposed to patching here. Things they can tweak like recoil and damage might make there way into a patch for a beta, but generally major changes don't.

I'm hopeful that they'll change stuff for the retail release. If history has taught me anything, it's that releasing a product, and then making major changes after the community has already started playing is a terrible thing to do (i.e. substantial stuff like health, weapon recoil, spawn times, etc). They need to get all that done BEFORE release, or have a day 1 patch.

I made that point in reference to the claims of KZ3 being COD-fied.
Why play a COD clone when you have COD ? :p

well, I looked throught the plus stuff...but there was really nothing interesting for me - as I thought previously.

I did download the Unleashed dynamic theme (first dynamic theme, so I wanted to try it out) - but...absolutely nothing special to be honest, wonder who in the world pays 2 Euros for this...

I did the 90-days deal...so I hope that there is something interesting available in this period...although it is kind of unfair that the plus stuff is only accessible as long as you are plus member!

But with respect to KZ3 beta...it was worth it up to now, I could really satisfy my curiosity!

I think EU PS+ members will get a new round of LBP2 beta invitation in early December, if you're not already in.

Hmm, I don't think I like MLAA in KZ.

I always thought the QAA in KZ2 worked great because it added to the look and feel of the game and it made it look very real as there was pretty much no aliasing at all.

From what I've seen of KZ3 the MLAA doesn't do a good a job and misses the aliasing on some surfaces which affects the suspension of disbelief that made KZ2 so immersive to play.

I agree MLAA loses some of the KZ2 characteristics. I saw other scenes that capture the essence pretty well. So we probably lose some, gain some here; but the thing that makes or breaks this game should be the gameplay.

If they are gunning for stereoscopic 3D, they should be focusing a lot (may be too much) on the visuals already.

Hm, I don't mind MLAA at all...there is occasionally aliasing crawling around, but the superb and rather strong grain filter hides it well IMO. There where some few occasions in KZ2 as well, where aliasing was visible.

Overall, the graphics of this game is mighty fine, astounds me everytime I put it in...it just seems so consistent and very dense atmosphere...as I said, I like the grain filter a lot (about similar to the Mass Effect grain filter)..gives it this dirty gritty feeling Killzone is about - the effects and sound are already ace...as I said, sometimes it is too much for my perception, although I slightly am adjusting to it!

BUT (and that is a really big but)...I wonder if GG gets the framerate under control?! Typically, I don't mind fluctuating framerate in games...but in KZ3 beta sometimes framerate makes it difficult to fight - which is kind of a downer. The only positive thing is, that it seems to be dependend on the map...for instance I have the feeling that Frozen Damn map is more choppy than for instance Corinth River map...but this could be related to different amount of actual players as well.
Another problem (similar to KZ2 online) is the lag and the resulting inconsistencies:

I put the pumpgun cross on someone, it gets red - I pull the trigger and shoot - it hits him, I do it again...it hits him again (he must be down now), one burst of his SMG and I am dead. I am not sure if it is my personal wrong perception - but this is quite annoying, IMO.
And there is in some games a delay, when shooting a person...wait until his deat animation kicks in and then get points a second after shooting.

If they get the game smooth (framerate+lag) I must say that I am very happy with it up to now. There are some minor tweaks necessary (I need to play more to find out) and some abilities seem to be rather strong (like for instance the spot and mark ability). The other thing is that Infiltrator class is reason for people running around and shooting own faction members all the time (I do it as well, because I don't know how to detect Infiltrator else).

I have now the Medic leveled up - seems to be a very strong class, IMO ...and one of the few where you can get the standard ISA M82 rifle - absolutley my favorite weapon (and ultra strong) besides the revolver (which can be unlocked for the Medic as well).

I am now at level 11, where I get 2 unlock points per rank - up to now ranking seems to work well...

@Nightshade:

KZ3 beta reminds me much much more of BF BC2 online than COD4 online.
And for me, this is a very good thing.

I really wonder why people call KZ3 beta KZ2 COD-ified? BF-ified would be the right call IMO:D

I just got in to the beta via the Indian PSN.

First graphical impressions: Wow, the game looks great. I had no idea how much QAA blurred the image. Also, the framerate seems to be much smoother than Killzone 2's ever was. Paradoxically, it seems to dip a lot more and more frequently than Killzone 2 did. The response time for the controls is awesome; makes the game feel great. The engine seems to be able to draw a lot more polygons this time around as well.

The MLAA seems to work relatively well. Most subpixel shimmering seems to be hidden by the grain filter, which is a plus.

Well, color me hyped.

Edit: I just noticed the particles really seem low res this time around. I guess QAA helped with that immensely. There also doesn't seem to be as much colliding particles this time, and it appears as muzzle flashes don't cast shadows this time around.

Damn, just got the best warzone game ever: scored about 7k+ points in this round and finished first in my team

crazy: Medic is a beast. Medic can stand up on its own, once down. Now I have upgraded that I even get my ammo back when I revive myslef - lol.
Medic = pure Chaos!!

I wonder if the other classes are as strong as Medic?!?!?

I agree with those stating: if framerate gets fixed - game is great.
But I really wonder if it is possible to optimize this -because levels are large, bots are flying around, turrets are rocketing, absolutle warzone mahem...I wonder how they keep even this 15 FPS during those situations :D

Killzone 3 graphics look very clean I think I like MLAA for K3. One thing I am missing is the 32p matches I liked the chaos that we got from K2. I also agree that the sprint is too short. Man I can't wait for the campaign I think its going to wow us.

Guerilla mentioned that getting data on what situations stress framerate in multi-player mode most is actually the primary objective for this beta. So if you're wondering how they are going to optimise this - you are helping, each time your frame rate drops while you're playing.

Oh, so it's no longer 32p? What's the max now? 24?

KZ2 was really really laggy at times which made me give it up. I would regularly shoot some guy and run around the corner and then die because the game had only just realised that he should have also killed me.

How's the netcode in KZ3 compared to MW2 on PS3?

Bah... why is Medic so special ? Did they boost the class to counter the Assault class ? I don't quite understand.

I saw complains about health bar and stamina. But some people mentioned that health bar is fine. How short exactly is the health bar ? Like R2 ?

I am not sure why people complain about health bar - really?
For me it feels the same as KZ2, which kind of leaves me astounded as all people cry and scream?!?

Compared to other games, it takes a lot of bullets to kill. With SMG, its nearly impossible for me to kill someone in mid range because it seems to me that I need nearly a full clip of hits. I really need to go infight with SMG. Pumpgun needs 1-2 close combat shots to down someone.

My feeling is that it takes much more bullets than compared to BF (in this game: if I see someone, he typically is already dead ). In KZ3 beta, if enemy is mid-high range away...its super difficult to kill him, I typically don't even try it because of the large amount of health.

But there are some occasional situations, where I have the feeling that I insta-die...I am not sure if it is related to lag, often it is also related to headshots which are rather effective (not for me, because I typically am happy to hit the feet of the enemy:))
Some turrets can be upgraded to fire rockets! Which is typically an insta kill.

Overall, for me the game feels rather KZ2 online with respect to health and bullet it takes...just a little more refined. I must admit that the last time I played KZ2 online is long time ago. But back at release I played a lot (unlocked everything possible, about 2 days online time total iirc) and bought all DLC maps and played them.

hm, as far as I can see it is the only class with the standard ISA M82 rifle. And this is my absolute favorite weapon in any game, all time classic (maybe the only other weapon out there: HALO's DMR assault rifle, the one with the scope). This weapons is ultra strong: close compat, mid range and even high range is possible (with scope).

then you have this small little helper bot who follows you and has this typically "everything is clear status sound". He automatically starts firing when he sees an enemy, which kind of is like a six sense when you run around - you really start to get kind of unique feeling to your bot and its a superb addition on the battle field.

then, as I said: when you are down, but not dead...you can revive yourself to get immediately back in action. Often enemies down you, but don't finish you off. The run by, and then get murderd from the back when I revive :D
And I could even upgrade this ability so that I have full health after revive, full ammo+explosive...so I am really completely back in action.
but you have to be carefully: some enemies are smart and wait until you revive yourself (kind of lengthy animation) and insta-kill you again.

There's little incentive to play a supporting role instead of going all offense while playing Medic.

- He has M82
- He has the medic bot
- He can revive himself

Why would anyone want to play support when you are such a beast ?

Another problem I have with this game is the point system, suppose you play a Warzone game and you make some 7000 points or so. Now when you look at your end game statistics you'll notice that out of those 7000 points 5000-6000 will be from the Bodycount gamemode alone. The point being that the game rewards a bit too heavily for going rambo & far too less for supporting or completing objectives.
