Man Iam in love with their gun models I wish they had more variety:

I handed my copy of Killzone 2 to a casual CoD player (plays it for the single player campaign) who was going to get the next one and had played MW2, etc. He came to me this morning very impressed, liking it much better than CoD, and saying that he thought it was also a bit more stressful - normal difficulty was harder for him then he expected and he was surprised by how smart the AI was, gave him a near heart-attack several times.

I think I converted someone to the Killzone fold. :)

I'm already used to the KZ look, so I'm not so easily impressed now. :devilish:

The most glaring piece of info I take away from that screen is "alpha code" (Heh heh). Shouldn't they update it to "beta code" now ?

I recently played some matches in KZ2. I went to the KZ2 "My Killzone" tab to view a match but I can't find it there. Battle replay is showing me only the last match I played . Does it keep only one Match on the page? Where can I select which match to view?

I hae used it before but can't find any option now :( !

Well, you sign in and go to "My Killzone". There , among many tabs, it shows "Battle Replay". The problem is it is showing a match of Pyrrhus Rise which I joined just as it was about to end. Then I played a match in Salamun Market which I want to view to clear some confusion regarding match layout. But I can't see anywhere where I can select the match I wanna view. I have come back afterso long, I can't remember where to go.

I get it. I think I clicked "Quit Match" when the results were being displayed. I think it didn't record my match cos of that, but the match had ended and I didn't want to continue to the next round. Strangely, the points I earned have been recorded, but the match itself hasn't been !

I suspect this is because of lack of players, its hard for me to find even 4 vs 4 games, atleast with a server based game browser you have the ability to populate a single server and enjoy for a while.

Anyways I don't blame the people for not playing it , Black Ops released last week....why play a clone instead of the real deal ? :p

That's quite true, but I saw a drop in MAG in-game users last night too. I suspect people will go to the new shooter to try out and then settle down on the new one or their old favorites later.

And now Red Faction: Guerilla is a cheap download on PSN too this week (plus 1 hour free trial for Plus members). But at least they make good on their promise that Plus ownership gives you access to a beta ... :)

Damn!! 15 Euros to join a beta...me am weak, me am weak :cry:

First impressions: graphics is great...framerate is not :D
Game seems to be good?! I am slowly starting to upgrade and unlock stuff...will see how it turns out

I think GG said that they haven't optimized it yet and the game will run much better.

played the whole evening yesterday.

first impressions:

I can understand now some of the critics...it astounds me as it is kind off basic stuff:

- The time you can run is much to short?!? I don't understand the reason behind this? They should increase the time, or alternatively decrease the recover time.

- Short respawn time is good in the sense of that you don't have to wait for hours to get back to action. But it is so short, that it is nearly impossible to re-vive someone with medic?!? People tyically don't wait, but immediately hit the respawn button, even when I just try to heal them. It does not help either that the radius where you can heal someone is rather short - you have to walk close up to the body...which often takes to much time, because respawn time is to short.

-I like the unlocking system so far. But I have the feeling that the unlock system is rewarding at the beginning and gets difficult the higher your rank is...in BF BC2 you unlock stuff for each class individually (which is rewarding all the time) and have some generall stuff which takes some time - perfect mix if you ask me!

-I like the XP system much much more than in KZ2, now you get points for everything it seems...I have to check first all the actions if you really get points for everything...but so far it is very rewarding and makes lots of fun..similar to BF BC2 (although I wonder if there is so much variety)

-I think, in warzone for the objectives much much more points are needed. Very smart: I get points when I pick up the speaker for instance - this is smart. But I only get 150 points when I deliver it (which is unbelievable difficult, only managed it once due to super luck). A kill for instance gives you 100, a head shot 150...this is absolutely not balanced! Speaker deliver needs 500 points for instance.

-Mechs are great, either fighting with or fighting against! I managed to take out one looser on foot, while he battled another Mech :D
But I really hope, that they include levels with some tanks, where you kind of have an interesting balance

-I don't understand the area capture system up to now? It seems to be very difficult, as in all the games I played, hardly any other spawn points are captured?!?

-How does the damn squad system works? In BF BC2 I just say: search a squad for me - and bang, I am in a squad. In KZ3 I don't know what to do to get into a squad?!? Squad is essential for the fun, so this is a big problem IMO.

-With respect to tech: game looks superb. This is probably one of the first games, which just puts to much onto the screen. There is so much detail, there is so much chaos, debris explosions, shaking camera...I get sometimes an audio-visual overload...
But overall the game feels very un-smooth! Framerate and probably additional online lag is a downer.

-although I mainly played warzone, operations seems to be interesting to...I wonder if there is variety in the release.

-shooting and fighting seems to work well, but I did not have any complains in KZ2 either

- overall, the atmosphere is great and breath taking, but sometimes the game tends to chaos...which depends a little bit on the tech side (framerate+lag) as well...in the middle of a chaotic fight - you need good controll over your actions to survive.

-I did not unlock the standard ISA rifle yet (my fav in KZ2), but it seems to me that I get killed a lot with this weapon...overpowered?

At the end, my impression is rather positive - I thought it is the worst game in the world reading all the reactions at GAF and here..but so far, it seems to be ok...although lots of tweaking is indeed necessary...on tech side and on game design side.

EDIT:just posted this stuff in the beta forums...

While you're at it, you should check out other PS+ freebies.

well, I looked throught the plus stuff...but there was really nothing interesting for me - as I thought previously.

I did download the Unleashed dynamic theme (first dynamic theme, so I wanted to try it out) - but...absolutely nothing special to be honest, wonder who in the world pays 2 Euros for this...

I did the 90-days deal...so I hope that there is something interesting available in this period...although it is kind of unfair that the plus stuff is only accessible as long as you are plus member!

But with respect to KZ3 beta...it was worth it up to now, I could really satisfy my curiosity!

The Irony being that Black Ops is the clone, while KZ3 is a different game entirely?

Anyway, I think I'm right when I say it's hard to keep people playing a game for weeks when they've only got 2 or 3 maps to play in a Beta, with retail games releasing available to all their friends

The drop in players probably has little to do with the game itself, and probably more to do with the lack of community / friends in a limited beta such as this one.
