He's referring to the auto-snap feature in KZ3 (Press L2).

There is no auto-snap-to-enemy in MAG.

In MAG, they took the recoil out because your hand will wander naturally while using Move anyway. I believe all Move controls will have some smoothing so that the pointer won't appear jittery (i.e., the "fabled 1-1 sub-pixel accuracy").

In Socom 4, I was told they put the recoil back, so it'd be more hardcore. But there is a separate mechanism to stablize the aim. I supposed the developers want to make a slower paced, tactical shooting game here.

I know that, and even mentioned it in my post (I called it iron-sight mode, but still) as well as the one where I put my impressions of the dev talk at EG.

But there is. There's constant auto-aim aid with MAG. Sure, it's not as obvious as the snap with using iron-sights in KZ3, but the effect of it permeates the entire game and makes aiming and hitting a simpler affair than than in KZ3.

Guerilla Games has repeated many times in interviews that they are opening up their game to casual audiences by implementing Move support :???: ! There in lies the problem. We are buying move to dominate in KZ3, to top matches and leaderboards while GG thinks such gamers will play with a DS3 ! they are inviting people who play only "Start tye Party" by bringing in Move. Tyere is wide gap between what we r expecting and what GG intends to deliver. The result is that pressing L1 automatically snaps the scope to enemies if u r using Move, which to me sounds absolutely contrdictory to the very purpose of Move which is better aiming capability in the hands of the player. It should translate to lesser aim assist whereas GG is going the opposite way by giving complete aim-assist to players with MOVE. tye problem lies in the fact that we s

I'm not sure I agree. We have move support in KZ3 because Sony wants to make move the next big thing. Surely they can't have one of their biggest sellers ship in January without any move support at all. Hence, why we have gimmicky move support in there. As long as Sony can ship KZ3 with a move-compatibility/supported sticker on the cover, everyone's happy.

Well folks it looks like they've started Beta testing already. Just got my email now :) Lets hope they have the MOVE implementation in the beta so I can try it out... ;-)

I believe you posted the wrong video :p

Ha ha, how 'bout this one ? I lost the original video:

I have to play KZ3 to be able to compare. They are quite different games. KZ3 is a cover shooter whereas MAG is MP only. The auto-snap iron-sight may not be available to MP KZ3 games. Then again in KZ3 MP mode, the general aiming and controls may behave differently. They may up aim assist since everyone would be scurrying around.

I'm not too sure KZ3 with MOVE will need any aim assist, particularly in MP. As opposed to MAG, in KZ2/3 the characters on screen are a lot bigger (mainly because the areas are not as massive and spread out).

With bigger targets on screen someone playing with MOVE pointer controls will find it much easier to train their sights upon a target and exact bloody death upon them.

At the same time though i can understand what the GG dev mentioned on the GT video about them having issues with the trade-mark "weighty feel" of KZ controls. Playing the Beta today of KZ3, i can very much see how implimenting MOVE controls similar to the MAG system could ridiculously destroy the games balance (provided they want analogue and MOVE guys playing together - which i think they do desire).

Good point.

So you're in the beta ? How does it play so far ?

Can't talk specifics ;-)

All i can do is confirm i'm in it though... even my PSN ID does that while i'm playing.

All i can say is that you're in for a treat folks ;-)

How does the aiming feel? Is it slow and heavy like KZ2 or fast and responsive like most shooters?

Downloaded the Killzone 3 theme from PSN+ as soon as it became available, I tink I might have a good chance to be among the chosen 10 000 (or was it 100 000?), as there was only about 200 ratings for the theme when I checked after the dl had completed. True, not nearly all rate them, but I keep my hopes up :)
The theme was rubbish, though. Deleted it right away.

He was probably too late like me. I had a reminder but work got in the way and when I checked 9:20 more than 2000 people had rated the download, let alone downloaded it.
