Online player count is now reduced to 24 (was 32) according to community manager Seb Downie!

That looks ... amazing. And the Move controls look good too. :LOL:
 
I always preferred KZ2 MP with smaller numbers of players. It kept the objectives from getting lost in the chaos.

Yeah, the same for me...I always choose the 16-24 player filter in the search mask...

Game Modes

* There are three game modes: Warzone, Operations, and Guerrilla Warfare. Operations is brand new.


Key Goals

* It's all about your play style, everyone from casual to veteran can play.
* There are colossal and immersive experiences that only the PS3 can offer.
* Rewritten matchmaking system. Now easier to find friends.
* Specific rewards. There's always something to earn no matter how many times you play the same level.
* Bots are bigger and better than ever before.

Entirely Reworked Career System

* There asre five different careers/classes.
* There are six weapons per career.
* You can rank up and earn unlock points to select abilities and weapons.


New Medic Class Abilities

* The Medic has been revamped. Has a protector bot that follows him around.
* The Medic special ability called 'Survive Bleed Out'. He Can respawn right where he died.


Tactical Spawn Points

* New tactical spawn points can be claimed by Tacticians. These allow your team to spawn in better locations. Extremely useful on bigger maps and for ambushing/rushing to weapons. These can be claimed back by the other team if not held.


Spotlight Your Character

* If you score the most points/are the most valuable team member, your multiplayer character features in the cut-scenes so everyone knows it was you.
* Explosive events now affect entire levels. EMP that kills all jet packs etc. Nerve gas that blocks off certain areas of map.


3D/Move

* Full 3D and Move support. No compromises for multiplayer.


Website

* Fully integrated community website.
* Track friends' news first.
* Contribute to the Killzone franchise.
* Track rewards.


Tournaments

* Clans and tournaments are back - bigger and better than ever.
* Unranked practice games are included.

But why are they telling us, and not showing us? GamesCom is the biggest tradeshow between now and KZ3 release. Outside of TGS of course, but that's not really the right market for a FPS.

LOL'ed at the bullet point: Medic can revive from the same spot (Wahahahaha !)
(He will likely die again if it plays like KZ2)

Prefers Tactician's spawn point to be destructible by others, so people who are lower class can do something about it.

Liking the changes anyway since it's still early. Guerilla seems to be trying out different gameplay. This is what I hope to see, more so than the pretty pictures.

3D and Move support is nice too I guess. Need to see how well they are done.
 
Graphics look awesome and the mp is shaping up to be pretty good.I'm also happy to see that their pulling a Halo 3 and giving each player their own profile page with all of they're stats and stuff.I read somewhere that KZ3 is going to have 4-player campaign co-op.Has that been confirmed or is it just a rumor??

They already did it with KZ2...they even had clan home pages/statistics & you could even challenge/enter a tourney using the website. Contrary to what most people think or miss out, Killzone 2 was a game full of features.

It's the party system that's missing. Otherwise the Warzone is very well done.
 
That was a bit of miss-information. Officially they have neither confirmed or denied the presence of any form of co-op in KZ3.

I noticed that the mp player count for KZ3 is capped at 24 and not 32 like in KZ2.That could be because their making way for 4-player co-op along with improving they're netcode.
 
They already did it with KZ2...they even had clan home pages/statistics & you could even challenge/enter a tourney using the website. Contrary to what most people think or miss out, Killzone 2 was a game full of features.

I didn't even know that and used to play KZ2 mp fairly often.Thanks for the heads-up.. :cool:

KZ3 is going to have a party feature which is going to be great.They also announced 3 new gametypes and the one that sounds really interesting is guerrilla warfare..

May be separate from 4P co-op.

I heard some Gaffers staying away from 32P KZ2 games because they were too hectic, and impacted the framerate. They chose 16-24P.

2P co-op would be nice since they are shooting for high quality 3D.

In the multiplayer trailer

1. In the map from the trailer, each team has two Exo suits.
2. The scopes for the weapons are standard.
3. The stars next to the badge icons is for upgrades.
4. When you're on the receiving end of a brutal melee attack, your camera goes third-person.
5. Revamped clan system.
6. Longer version of the trailer is coming soon.
7. Warzone will be returning with "much more".
8. Exo suits can be piloted by both sides if left alone.
9. Points system has been completely changed.
10. Locking at 30 FPS.
11. Party system confirmed.
12. Squads are "a lot" larger.
13. No counter to brutal melee..
14. Player count is now 24?! (instead of 32 from KZ2)
15. No weapons customization, the scopes on the weapons are now standard .
 
Oh My God ! What has been happening while I was away :D ! Here I was thinking will KZ3 look even as good as KZ2 (cos of 3D support n shit) and these screens are screeeeaaamming for attention. God wouldn't it be awesome if MGS4 was made in KZ2 (errr... 3) engine :) ! Imagine all the mechs this beautiful.

Gotta watch the MP t4railer now :) !
