I'm with xbd on this one! Killer Instinct is a much bigger title than either BK or Battletoads... with enough polish, graphics and gameplay... it could be a very major game for 360!...now if we only had VF5, Gunstar Heroes, Earthworm Jim, PDS 2, Forgotten Worlds, Strider, Shinobi, Alex Kidd, Secret of Mana, Ultima, Thunderforce, Clockwork Knight, and Daytona we'd be cooking with gas! ;)

Can you tell when I started gaming? :cool:

Oh my, Gunstar Heros and Thunderforce series were a few of my favs. :D

Square Enix Hints At Broader Format Support

Square Enix senior vice president Michihiro Sasaki has hinted that the company may spread its support more widely across formats,
compared to the current and previous generations of console.

Quoted by an article in the Wall Street Journal, Sasaki suggested that,
“We don't want the PlayStation 3 to be the overwhelming loser, so we want to support them.”
He added, "But we don't want them to be the overwhelming winner either, so we can't support them too much."


The remarks suggest that Square Enix may now believe itself to be as important to the success of the PlayStation brand,
in Japan at least, as the format is to the company’s profits.
However, rather than placing itself in the role of kingmaker, Sasaki seems to suggest simply that the company will spread its range of titles more evenly amongst the competing formats.

Thus far though the company has announced two major Final Fantasy titles for the PlayStation 3, with spin-off series Crystal Chronicles and Dragon Quest Swords for the Wii
and only minor titles such as shoot ‘em-up Project Sylpheed for the Xbox 360.
The intended formats for Dragon Quest IX and Kingdom Hearts III have not yet been announced, but if they are anything other than PlayStation 3 exclusives
then it will indeed mark a significant change of policy for the company.

so its really nothing solid and even more importantly, nothing coming up soon.
I guess that before the ps3 game is nearly completed, any announcement of another platform would not be made. either that be wii or 360.

sasaki making this bold statement about "we want to support playstation3 in order not to become an overwhelming loser, but not too much", seems to me that he knows what he's talking about.
it may seem a very-very bad thing to say, but it is pretty realistic.
for a while now, it seems that the most important thing going for ps3 is S.E. rpg.
also it is pretty realistic that microsoft has talked with them, and that microsoft also realises the significance of S.E. rpg exclusivity as the last stronghold of ps3.
and a special key to the japanese market also.

so this talk by SE boss might sound harsh, but to me it sounds like a confirmation that no announcement will be made for anything else rpg-related, until ps3 products are almost finished. (too long)
that of course doesnt mean that they arent working on something for the other 2 consoles.
but its not coming soon. if it EVER does.

Well if Microsoft were to buy Shiny and their IP, Microsoft could release the Earthworm Jim games on XBLA.


I'm doubtful Halo 3 will have a dominating appearence. Just more teaser stuff. A little more info on the movie seems plausible. I agree with IGN, Microsoft is going to want Gears of War in the spotlight. Too much Halo 3 would spoil things for Gears.

IMO this conference cannot be a smash hit without a $100 price drop.

To Scooby's rumors two pages ago, I recognize at least two things that aren't happening, Forza 2 demo (game was exceedingly early atTGS) and Halo3 at 1080P would just be stupid (not happening).

If Microsoft lowered the price of the XB360 core by $100, it would cost less than a Wii. Of course it's within Microsofts power to do a price drop like this, I just doubt it will happen this soon. To me, it seems more likely they would do a price drop around March 2007.

this might have already happened, but allas, both sony and nintendo price ranges do not give even a single reason to m$ to lower the price.
instead of that, we saw recently that m$ was the reason for sony to lower ps3 pricing in japan.

so put the blame where it should be put.

on the other hand, maybe we get some good bundles with the latest blockbuster games.
that'd be good for people looking to buy.

Agreed on both observations, I doubt they'd put Forza up in the form, and Halo at 1080p? Screw that, give me 720p and as much eye candy as you can pile on there.
