You know I wonder what cooling solution they found.....considering what form they chose for the XBOX Series X, I was surprised to see this form factor for the PS5 when the cooling is even more important

First impressions: yuck. Still, I’m a form follows function guy, so just offer a better color than white.

It looks much wider than the PS4 Pro, judging from the opitcal slot, right? A Pro is like 2x slot width. This looks like 3x.

On its own in a promo shot, sure. But in the average house?

It'll look good in our flat. What is it about an average house that you think a black and white product won't fit in? Colours, sure, mono-chromatic is uninspired, but fairly safe.

Its' marginally larger than the DS4, very marginally. Mostly it's "filled out" - mostly with sensors and hopefully a bigger battery!

I do like that they have an edition without the optical drive. I don't need the optical drive. Rather save the money, even if it's $20.

How are folks not seeing the size of the thing without comparing the disc slot size to an OG XB1? You can see its fecking massive next to the DualSense controller. It's HUGE. Don't be fooled by the contours and contrasting colours. it's almost certainly why they picked this design.
