+ they claim Cell won't be ready and will be too expensive (I don't think that's a quote from the press conference but the editors thought)

Naw, been there done that, its trying to be too much "EXTREME" and "COOL" to my tastes. Simplicity rules.

The PS3 logo is ugly though, its trying too much, again, simplicity rules 8)

Wow, I guess I'm the odd one out yet again who thinks it's pretty cool. I happen to like the stylish modernist look and who knows, it might have meaning.

I think I'd be almost disapointed if this wasn't it. heh.

PS. Nondescript - do you work in the IT industry? (I wouldn't ask specifics obviously.. more like, "No"). Wonder if you get that alot comming from the lengendary land of Xerox PARC.

Hmmmm what do you think of this: in the logo (fake or real we don't know) we see al lot of C's... Does C refer to Cell???? And we see ceveral c's or cells like a network of processors.... And maybe because we see a lot of roundness in the logo the PS3 will have roudn forms too instead of the curved forms of the PS2 and PS2 logo!! Wow too deep for me!!!


And don't you guys think it look a lot like the official PS2 Network Gaming logo

False alarm as web journalists get all excited over faked logo


A number of websites this morning have reported that this image is the first glimpse of Sony's logo for PlayStation 3, unveiled at a meeting with RAM supplier Elpida - but the logo is actually a mock-up created by UK magazine PSM2.

We're not sure where the rumour originated, but we suspect that some chancer has pulled a fast one on giant US game news site IGN, which breathlessly reported on the unveiling of the logo earlier today.

A quick call to Sony PR here in the UK, however, reveals that the logo is not the work of Sony's design teams at all - but rather of PSM2's design teams, who mocked it up for a feature about the PlayStation 3 some months ago.
