Pgr3 with only 30 Frames/s.....

I think in point of framerate,Pgr3 is going down, also only 30FRames/s.
Look at statement on bizarreonline:

"We're still aiming for 60, but at this point we can't confirm anything because, quite simply, we haven't finished the game. If we said 'We're definately going to be at 60' and then some mad glitch occured which forced us to 30, we'd look very silly.

We won't comment on threads like these in the future, it's obvious we want and are aiming for the highest possible, but as we've not even finished yet we'd be pretty dumb to 'confirm' anything."

I wonder about this, when the Xbox360 in August/Sept is going to massproduction, the same time around for massproduction of the startgames.

The game must ready in 8 Weeks, and they dont know if 30 or 60 Frames/s ??LOL,i think it's only 30 Frames/s ,that say my feeling when i read the statement. It is very poor,GT4 on Ps2 runs with 60 Frames/s.

Great misleading thread title.

It is amazing to me that there is even a possibility of sub-60fps games this generation. Especially with a LCD of HD, why not take advantage of the extra refresh. *boggle*

I hate devs that value eye candy over performance, especially on these next gen beasts.

Do they even have final Xbox 360 hardware yet, or are they still using alpha kits?

If they don't have the final hardware yet, then their comments are completely understandable. Without it, commenting on framerate would only be a guess.

Well at this point most games don't seem to be at stellar framerates.....yet.

Heavenly sword is sitting at 5-10 fps. It was confirmed that Killzone 2 was running at LESS than 5 fps ( and then sped up in post production ). Even Gears of War was only 20 fps at E3.

But that's understandable, noone having any final hardware to work with. And then once they have that hardware, they have to take the time to optimize it.

But I hear what your saying. It would be VERY nice to see 60 FPS being MUCH MUCH more common come next gen.

It was weird with PGR2. They said (on the forums way back) that turning on AA didn't have a performance penalty (which is why they turned it on) and that they probably could have fixed the framerate if they had more time.

Games don't come WITH a fps... It's not like a feature that you can turn on and off...

Games run AT a certain fps.

Sorry for being anal.

But yeah, 30fps should be made illegal. Like cabbage.

I thought the main reason why PGR 2 ran at 30 fps was BECAUSE they decided to go with FSAA.

I don't see why they would have said that turing on AA didn't have a performance penalty..... the performance penalty for AA on the Xbox was quite large.

As I understand Ps3 dev kids are already near final spec..so shouldn't the Xbox360 already use final specs? They are kinda late with this if you ask me..

The man in charge with the graphics ran some tests with and without AA and the framerate was still 30fps. I wish I could find the post, but it might have been deleted when they upgraded the forums. I'm sure I quoted it here last year though.

Yeah funny how the Xbox was supposed to have "Free AA" and advertised that way against PS2 which did not have free AA, then the devs had to go for 30fps instead of 60 when they turned AA on... Free, totally free.

I just hope next gen consoles will have Free AA that's actually free.

Well I don't know. I could be wrong, but I don't remember hearing that they had started shipping FINAL Xbox 360 hardware to devs.

Did I miss that announcement? and if I did, when was it?

I don't recall MS mentioning free AA with Xbox...

Well it seems Sony has more final hardware in their hands, or is closer to it than MS, and i'm not sure why since MS are supposed to launch the damn thing in a few months time in 3 territories simultaneously.

I agree. I can remember the "free AA claims" made by nVidia for the GeForce 3, and now their claiming "almost free" for the GF 7800 ( and then you look at the OLD games their using to claim this and laugh  )

But based on what I know and have read about the Xenos, I do believe ATI has finally nailed the whole "Free AA" thing, and got it right this time. = )

Final hardware (in the form of beta kits) are going out, as of a few weeks back.

PS3 development isn't on final hardware as the GPU doesn't exist. Kits have Cell, but devs presumably can't make use of the Cell<>GPU direct communication.

is PGR 3 a launchgame in the first place? if it's a launchgame to launch in the launchwindow than it means they have time till december (wow a lot of launches there .............;)
