Can someone clear up the extent of Immersion patent on the rumble technology. Is Sony allowed to developed their own technology? I imagine it would be easy for their massive R&D and engineering Dept. Or just put the basic function from what existed in the pager or a vibrator. (Is the vibrator even patented; I wonder how it is describe in the patent application).
The best compromise for now is for the games developers to include the rumble function in their software. It would'nt be that difficult or effect the SixAxis in any way. But the PS3 owner can buy a third party gamepad that included licenced rumble capability. What dou you think?
