Overclockers get to test R520?

Is the r520 ....
there is no another explanation

I soooo want to believe it is R520, but i'm gonna be boring and say..nope.
But thats me, the uber pessimist. :?

Someone mentioned a new wicked mobo chipset from ATI, so i will go with that. :)
I hope we'll find out this weekend. :devilish:

Nice data Galduta.

21. FUGGER - 33497.0 marks - P4 3.4EE@4.4Ghz Radeon X800 XT------ xt pe stock clocks

Is the new P4EE that Zardon's using going to be much faster than a Fugger's CPU?

And can anyone make a stab at what clocks a 16-pipe card would need to be running at to get an extra 6600-odd points (33497 versus 40145).

I'm a total noob at 3DMk01...

I think Zardon posted mostly to boast about how fast he clocked his new P4EE, after all it's in the OC/modding forum.

similar ballpark core speed .. one more Quad. Plus lots of little Tweaks and Enhancements.. plus better/improved Memory Controler.

You are all wrong it's a nv48(blows everything out the water including r520) and wanna know what the score is in 3dmark99

I bet my lunch money that it is some kind of multi GPU set up.

Eat a big breakfast so you don't go hungry.
You don't think it's an R520, do you MuFu? :|

Yes. Don't you?

He's as good as admitted it's an ATi card, there's only one of them in the picture (is that an ugly cooler you can see under the blurred section?), two GPUs on one board from ATi would be a suprise, we know R520 came back from the fab in early December so could nearing production qualification and 40k seems about right for a sample running at or a little under target clocks.

I'm still holding out for multi gpu in a new ATI dual-pcie mobo. The big dark secret of the X850 that everyone wondered why they bothered is a little bit o' sli-loving enablement.

100% speculation of course.

I want to, but everyone keeps laughing at me whenever I suggest that I'll be able to get an R520 for me birthday in the beginning of April and I'm getting so tired of being right all the time! :?

;)

Btw, a reminder from three pages ago:

UPDATE on Dallas Event!!

Look what I got from one of the folks at ATI.
I have no clue whats going on there now.

Oh one other thing, I am kind of concerned with the direction the thread is taking...everyone thinks we're going to be doing a big reveal of some sort. That's most likely not going to happen. They might see a motherboard that they haven't seen before but that's about it. I am hoping that all three of you will work together to beat any existing records as opposed to it being a competition. I understand each of you have different techniques and there will always be some friendly rivarlry.

Altho that "most likely" is interesting as it implies they could if they wanted to. . .which is actually the most concrete thing I've seen suggesting in a semi-official way that the next bad boy is in shape to be seen by the public in a limited way.

Hmm.

So, when will the oh so very annoying NDA be lifited? (Obviously when ATI annouces it) But whats the best estimate for that? last I heard was may.

add: Assuming it has 16 pipes, that is.

The Inq seem to think this is a 512MB R480. Hmm.
