Overclockers get to test R520?

Record for a single card setup I'm guessing, which is what OPPAINTER broke again, like he frequently does, as mentioned in a previous post.

Fuggler and Macci like working on Intel and Opp likes A64. All 3 are great and will be a amazing thing to see compeat in one place. I will be there and will take many pics with a Kodak DX4530 5MP.

Fugger's just got himself an A64 mobo (courtesy of ATI) and said "hell froze over". :D

Sounds like good news. Im hearing the new ATI chipset can run high HTT speeds like over 1200/2400.

1250 is apparently "easy". There seems to be a fair amount of incredulity about this, along the lines of people thinking that the CPU itself just can't do more than 1000.

ATI seems to be saying that it's actually down to their expertise in laying out the 4-layer mobo. I suppose this relies upon ATI's expertise in the development of 256-bit busses and GDDR3, in which I imagine board layout itself is critical.

Though NVidia seems to be able to make high-clocking memory on its graphics cards (i.e. 6800 Ultra, 6600GT). So I dunno really why ATI should be shaking things up so much.

Good for him, I bet he has a lot of fun learning something new too. :)

High HTT gets you nothing in performance, it's just for show. The HTT bus on the A64 already has so much bandwidth. In fact, you have to go lower then about 650Mhz before you start to see any impact. For the record DFI NForce 4's can get really high HTT too.

Hopefully someone makes a good quality vid. I wanna see alot of smoke and big explosions ;)

Hmm, Zardon over at Driverheaven is such a teaser. :)

He's using a non-overclocked video card and scores over 40 000. ;)

Is the r520 ....

there is no another explanation
