oh SH*T, Photos of NV35 and prelim benchies!!!!!

Erm, who's to say the 5800U won't gain 10% as well? Notice the 5900U performs as fast as a 5800U with the Det 43.51's, tho the 5900U is clocked slightly lower.

I'm not sure if this should be mentioned here due to the delicate situation regarding beta members and the debug build you used. I think as long as it runs "fine" on the public version, it's well, fine.

Rev, despite having read your edit comment I would just point out that the 43.45 drivers are in fact the public version on nVidias site (dating March 27).

Beyond that, yes, it might be a delicate situation for Dave to mention those errors, but I think that the community here can handle it just fine.

Well, I wasn't talking about IHV drivers but the 3DMark03 debug build and access to it.

I've just done a little more thinking about this and have voiced my concerns (+ suggestions) to FM.

Just saying that's the boost from what is available today to what'll be available tomorrow from Nvidia, nothing less/more. Perhaps the NV30 benefits more from the det 50 :)

What's with the upright power conector there. To me that looks like it would be difficult to attach with it pointing in that direction, especially if you have a card in PCI #2.

Maybe the molex extension they provide has a right-angled connector?

Hmm... I was expecting them to use the HS/fan from the 5800 (non-Ultra), although I guess that wouldn't make much sense from a visual point of view. I bet that fan is still pretty loud when cranked up - does the design suggest that to anybody else?

Target was ~25% faster overall than NV30 so it looks like they'll just about make that with the help of Det 50. I hope nobody is *too* suprised when the benchmarks are released - it's crazy to think that NV35 will be anything other than a considerable improvement over NV30, both in terms of performance and availability.

As for the "lite" version... could NV36 be a downclocked NV35 with a 128-bit memory interface?! I can see them being able to get that out by July if it tapes out this month.

MuFu.

This looks like a very interesting board. I suspect it's the top of the line PCB with active termination, etc. The PS seems quite beefy, too. It appears that the molex socket may also be used in the regular 5800 orientation. The RAM layout is as per Mufu, as well as the speculation about an external TMDS for "dual-link". The offset centrifugal fan also negates the "dead spot" effect of placing the fan over the centre of the ASIC. What a difference a n5 revision change makes...;)

Hmm, RAM placement looks like that on Parhelia.
(Assuming the smaller sinks have the RAM chips beneath them.)

Which one? It doesn't seems so with det 50.** according to TT-H

I must admit I'm not sure, but I'd be very, very surprised it this hold any truth.
I just think texturing/FP are decoupled, and that means nVidia can now *freely* use FP every 4 instructions - maybe they're benefiting from that to increase quality a little too at the same time.

Most people here can handle it, but when people start linking/quoting at places like nvnews or rage3d (which has already happened at least once) then it can get out of hand.

I talked to Hilbert over at Guru3D again. He has an NV35 already. I wonder how many other people do....

I think Digit Life and ExtremeTech do for certain. Probably all the large sites (Anandtech, THG, [H] etc) and most of the big mags as well, to be honest. nVnews are under NDA but I don't know whether they have a board or not yet.

John Carmack's probably had one for a while.

MuFu.

A producer at Activision has had one since at least 4/30 if not longer.

Bout the GF4, he's referring to what card was used for some screenshots...
Actually a GeForce4/4600...AA on, Anis on... That's sitting on a box next to my machine now, but that is what was in there previously. Now it's something really fast...hush hush...
Actually i'm cycling cards now in my machine to determine which we will actually use at E3. Both are the latest cards from nVidia and ATI (Not all released yet). No final decision yet on which one we will use. Both are awesome.

Definately seems like there's a lot more cards to spread around.

Why I wont buy that card:

1. Too big, takes 2 PCI slots.
2. Theres a better card in the market that I can buy right now: R9800Pro
3. I like to support good enginnering. Making a card that needs a HUGE heatsink and fan to compete with another card with a regular size one is not good enginnering. Ever wonder how even the R300 would pown this card with the same coolong?

This doesn't look a lot different than the Nv30 release. Points in common:

1. Marchitecture(and stupid may I add?): UltraShadow(sounds like something you would say in a joke), cineFX2(wtf?).
2. Again needs bigger/noisier cooling to compete with an existing product.
3. Uses next generation manufacturin and still does not deliver a sustantial performance lead(on top of the bigger fan).
4. Bigger/more complex PCB and manufacturing costs than existing products(can care less, but ask the manufacturers, maybe they care).
5. Anounced early trying to slow the compeeting product sales.

I think, and only think since I dont know for sure, this video card is for the nVidia loyalist. But people who want the best performance and quality, will stick to ATI for now, at least until the next generation cards come out. On top of that, ATI might have an answer for this chip called de 9900Pro, so who knows?

Although I like the current ATI card better, I hope this card kicks the 9800Pro in performance at least, that was I can a cheaper one soon.

Well obviously there plenty of people covertly breaking the NDA and giving out stock 'tips' to associates as 62million shares of Nvidia have traded today. Almost like Nvidia planned to give out these cards around earnings time.
I would imagine the Nv35 will be the top performer by a good margin.
