ASUS is showing off their new M4N82 Deluxe motherboard at Cebit, it sports a new 'nForce 980a' chipset, which in reality is rebranded nF 780a, released almost a year ago

Are we sure it is? Because there were some signs NV would release a 55nm MCP78 version early this year, and that might just be it. A straight half-node shrink justifying a 200 bump is pretty damn crazy though! (although I still didn't figure out why AMD decided to go from 780G to 880G in 2H09 despite the fact it's still on 55nm and little to nothing seems changed except DDR3 support which I'm not sure even required a metal respin)
