I don't doubt these may be the numbers (though as always confirmation desired), but they're not surprising either.
I sometimes worry about the people that get *shocked* about every data point they see around here - I fear for their critical thinking abilities. February was a slow month for PS3 game offerings, the console aint cheap, and the competition was strong; not much reason for someone who didn't feel inspired to buy it in January to have come off the fence in Feb. Anyway, I'm interested to see what post-March 23rd numbers start looking like - I think the new firmware should offer a fair bit of appeal. Other than that, it's just waiting for 'killer apps' to be released, be they games or whatever else.
I'm happy with what I've been shown this month though in terms of PS3's future... happy enough that I really don't care if it gets doubled-up on in sales right now. But it's that very satisfaction I'm feeling with what I've seen, that I suspect eventually will translate into PS3 sales to others as well down the road. I mean even for those who choose to be partisan in the war, you gotta admit PS3 looks better now than it did a month ago, even if not on a personal level.
All that aside... good performance by Wii and 360 - I respect your achievements.
I didn't see your prediction for how well you thought ps3 would sell in February, but I'm guessing this was in line with your predictions. So my question to you is: Do you think this <150k/mo rate will be typical for ps3 this year? Why or why not?

Time to chop that price Sony.
I...
Wii is gone, over the hill and never to be seen again. Still supply limited, It's gonna catch up and surpass the 360 very quickly.
As I said, I can't believe the clusterfuck the PS3 is. It's pretty much dead. I hope third parties realize this ASAP or this "next gen" will turn worse than it already is.
No that soon though. I think they will wait for 1 more quarter after the European launch to see what happens.
EU can save them.
It's more like "Nintendo wins all" so far.well in the larger scheme EU should bail them out (we will know soon if this is true) but this is more or less trending as many had predicted... MS wins NA, Nintendo JP and Sony EU. Although MS needs a price drop soon itself to stay ahead of wii in NA and Nintendo could take EU as well.

they're not ahead yet in NA but it is trending that way which is why a 360 price drop could change that (or at least keep it interesting)
yep.
It's funny, I was upset at Sony initially for pricing the ps3 so expensive as it delayed a price cut last fall and now ps3 is underperforming at retail and it's stalling a price drop again for xb360!
Hopefully MS realizes their position in the market longterm and drops around May. Perhaps a core pack-in with Forza2 ... the timing is perfect.
