That is the ultimate irony. The original Sonic the Hedgehog on a Nintendo Console. Who'd a thunk it.

Haha....10 years ago it would've been like "No way, man, no way thats ever, ever gonna happen"

Apparently, Zelda DS might be a sequel to WindWaker. Somebody claims to have spotted a boat that look similiar to the Red King of Lions

Every now and again, against some rather vocal protestations, I suggest Nintendo give up console hardware and release games on other platforms. Maybe in ten years' time it'll be PlayStation 5 that's playing all Sony's, Sega's and Nintendo's back catalogue? :p

There are no boundaries and no certainties in business...

There's a video up on NOE's site, but I've lost the link! It is stylistically/graphically suprisingly faithful to windwaker, but with mostly a top-down viewpoint. Really excellent graphics for DS! The boat is indeed back also (well, actually, it looks like a steam boat now), and it shows how the player can trace out a path in the sea on a map, that the boat will subsequently follow. Seems to heavily emphasise touch-screen related puzzles, including what looks like even taking hand-written notes about different parts of the map (?)

edit - here's the video, enjoy: http://media.nintendo-europe.com/compel/video/cri9US3Ag5tBu3OkYw7e30hIK1Rv3Sa8.mov

Wasn't Sonic Mega Collection out on the GC two or three years back? ;)

What would be really... awesome... but won't happen is downloadable Sega Saturn content. :)

...Or TG16-CD/Turbo Duo for those cold nights when you need some Rondo of Blood to warm you up.

Wow, that is really impressive and I can almost feel the Windwaker vibe. I'll definitely gonna pick this up.
Lots of touch screen action as well. The boomerang definitely seems easier to use now, etc.

It's over

Summary:

* Revolution backlog also features Sega Genesis games & TurboGrafx
* the download service will be comparable to ITunes
* Nintendo tries to be different:

* WiFi is important to them
* Games: Zelda DS celshaded, Brain Training, Metroid Hunters

Holy sh!t!! Yet another reason to get a Rev!

I am soooo getting Gaiares! :D

Wow! This is going to be the best generation of consoles EVER!!!
First the xbox360 and the Live Arcade games.
Then PS3 with new arcade games and classic PSOne games, and on PSP too!
Now Revolution with old Nintedo and SEGA games!!!

I won't need to buy new "next gen" games at all with these great back-catalogues!

Seriously, this makes Revolution my second concole of choice (second as one of my two consoles I'll be playing next gen, not second as my no. 2 less preferred console of the two)

Somehow that's funny

Well, many have commented on the oddity of having a sparkly new hi-tech 360 and being most excited about..SF2 coming to LIve..

I was thinking more of the originals. Though now it seems it's only a few Megadrive games and not the whole library, but the original Sonic will be there, I'm sure. Bit disappointing really, only having a selection of titles to play. I'd have thought Sega emulation would be a doddle and there's be nothing to prevent them all being available. I wonder what the restriction is? With luck (for those who like retro gaming, which isn't me!) more will become available over time.

I know some people who are getting one just for that game. Who can blame them though?

Can't you just use an external hard drive? Or are you talking about emulation problems with the Saturn (I think I once heard that it was a very complicated system)?

A little from column A, a little from column B.

I was going to cite the comparative difficulty of making those available on their online network, versus 1-4MB ROM's.

Neo Geo anyone? I ALWAYS wanted to play those games when I was younger but couldn't afford it. Saturn and Dreamcast would be nice too, if possible. :)

NeoGeo would rock. I'd really like to play those classics (Fatal Fury, Samurai Showdown) again. Moreover, it could be done since the rights are back at SNKPlaymore again.

BTW, does anybody else wonder want Nintendo is going to do about the 512 MB flash memory in Rev? I mean 512 MB are really dirt cheap, Hopefully they'll upgrade it a bit or offer an external HDD.
