For a company that's worse then MS in its practices, Apple is a very good candidate. Killing of entire lines of software on the PC platform by buying the respective companies, refusing cooperation in many fields, iPod issues, and so on... They have better PR though.
Random Thoughts to follow:
Apple is one of my least favorite companies in terms of business practices...I just happen to like their stuff.
The not buying arguments to me always ring shallow, because most people don't ACTUALLY care enough to research everything they use when they proclaim not to buy/use a certain mfr. (eg. officemate doesn't use microsoft products...yet has no problems with using Comcast cable tv/internet as his provider which uses MSFT software on its boxes.)
My household is 20" Intel iMac, MacBook pro (CoreDuo), and my PC development box, but I have the most fun with the 360, so much so that even after red ring of death part two (launch system and an APR06 mfr date system), I am itching to get back to gaming on the 360.
I had sworn off Apple as a company many moons ago after they bought e-magic and killed off the Windows side of Logic, man was I pissed...
In my lifetime I can honestly say that I have probably spent equal amount of time of frustration with just about every OS I have ever used, the mouse drivers on my C64 that had typos, the ATI drivers on my old SUSE boxes, OS 7,8.x,9.x,10.0 always giving me issues, WinMe (I tried to remove the portion of my brain that even remembers MSFT released that damn thing!)
As far as the article goes, can't say I liked it can't say I hated it, same with the Sony one.
