Sony have published a new teaser photo of the console ahead of the E3. 1 day to go.

Looks like a %#}#%^^*%# piano, LBP style.
 Whoops! There it is! It gives the impression of being a musical instrument emitting synthesized music.

I can't discern anything judging by the shape, it could perfectly by your radio car -the one you mentioned the other day in a different thread- or so.

It looks like they put the DS4 controller up in front, facing us. The PS4 box behind the controller, with the PSEye on top. If so, it looks awfully small though (way too narrow and it's a square ? Height seems just right or slightly taller than I expected). Is it really a square ?

EDIT: About the same size as a MacMini, but taller, if it's a square.

EDIT 2: Or perhaps the box is not in the picture. Only the DS4 and PSEye on top of a display stand.

I haven't bought PSN Plus either. How much is it? I guess it would be okay to get games like Uncharted 3, though by now, how much is that game worth?

But no way I would pay for online. If Sony pulls that shit, no next gen consoles then.

I see they took away the one-month option. cheapest subscription is 3 months now ($18).

Bah, the original PS3 looks great (If you take away the Spiderman font). The square Slim looks clean and simple. The latest one is ugly.

EDIT:
wco81, I think that PS+ minimum subscription fee is priced like a Greatest Hits PS3 game. These are the games that sold over a million units, and are usually priced @ $20.

TBH, Uncharted and Last of Us are the kinds of games I'd rent or buy and re-sell.

If Sony pulls the same restrictions on re-selling used games, then I'll have very little interest.

Unless the unintended consequences of no secondary markets include new game prices falling faster (because maybe a lot of new game purchases are driven by people recovering some costs by selling games) than previous consoles, it seems consoles are going to require higher budgets.

Super-Meat-Boy shape?

;)

My dream-design for PS4 would actually resemble a very, very clean HTPC-type case with a high-qualitiy brushed black aluminium finish, the height of my vintage CD-Player and slightly rounded corners to give it that just somewhat avant-garde feel.

Something like this:

I'd totally pay a hefty price-premium to get such a box instead of the usual plastic stuff. Would fit in perfectly with the rest of my hifi/home-cinema equipment.

So, an Xbox One :p

please dont respond taking this seriously, it looks a lot like an Xbox One, which looks like an HT receiver, on first glance

Xbox One has a lot more vents. ^_^

From Sony's PS4 photos, we can see big vents there too.

The HTPCs I have seen are much more subtle. These days, you can get XBMC on very small Raspberry Pi devices.

Who's Victor Lucas ?

I didn't know either so I had to Bing em...

Seems to be some TV producer -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victor_Lucas

Victor "Vic" Lucas (born February 11, 1968) is a Canadian television producer and personality, mainly known as the creator, executive producer, writer, co-host director of the television program The Electric Playground.

He is also the creator, executive producer, and co-host of Reviews on the Run; the show was known in the United States as Judgment Day. Lucas' co-hosts on Reviews on the Run originated with Tommy Tallarico and has recently included game industry veterans like, Scott C. Jones, Jose Sanchez, Ben Silverman, Tom Russo, Marc Saltzman, Steve Tilley, Geoff Keighley, and as announced on February 18, 2010, Reviews on the Run will also feature regular guest spots from Jeff Cannata from The Totally Rad Show.

Yea, he's on Electric Playground, he's a cool and laid back guy. Great TV show in Canada. They air out of Vancouver I believe.

Reviews on the Run is another Canadian show. Tommy Tallarico used to host with Victor Lucas. Tommy left for games development or something else, I forget, but Victor Lucas is still on the show.

Both shows are produced by Greedy Productions. Great shows honestly, nothing fancy, just good previews and positive atmosphere. Like Classic Game Room on YT :)

Yeah, used to be on G4 but their show still runs in Canada I guess. I remember watching it back when Jade Raymond was a host for a little while

I think they get money from the government, for some reason the government is extremely friendly to games media and games developers especially from big publishers like Ubisoft (re: attracting comp sci talent with good jobs).

Greedy Productions gets some money from Canadian Media Fund, I think, because you see CMF logo at the end of every show.

Good show, and I'm glad it's being funded.

Edit: Btw I was just reading CMF is not a government agency, but a private-public partnership organization. It's a media and heritage fund to develop Canadian media. Nice to see when different organizations get along for a change, and I'm glad they are spending money on games a bit :)
