This makes no sense. Your comment is in direct opposition to your objection. They've obviously been spending money on advancing the tech.
That press release says PS4Eye works with Move, yet Move isn't bundled. All that press release is really saying is the tech has been developed. That's nothing about what's in the box, what are accessories, what are free services and what are paid for. All that is unknown.Official press release has a nice big section about PS4 Eye. I dont think they went to all this trouble just to offer camera as a separate purchase

I'm saying they have Richard Marks and co playing around with this stuff for years. It is not some crash course R&D project for the PS4, it is part of Sony's DNA. Not to mention it is not vastly different than last gen's device or the one before that.
War Thunder dev mentioned PS4 headtracking in a recent interview.
