Yep, German text specifies that you will get the lowest price that the device will be available for on amazon between now and the actual launch date.

We don't know how many consoles they can make by this fall. Even if the pre-order list is super long, it doesn't mean everyone will get one.

In the [preview of the full] interview with Gamezone.com, gaming industry analyst Michael Pachter predicted that both consoles will sell out at launch. PS4 will cost ~$349 and Xbone ~$399.

What are the latest prediction for BOM prices of both consoles? Do we have a dedicated thread for that?

Is that hard, we probably can do a better PC for 500€ (assuming 350€):?: And a pc takes much more components, middle man etc...

Also remembering that XB360 released at 400$/€ what is the mores law relation to todays components? PS4Eye shouldn't cost much too.

But that would be a nice price, a bit hard to believe they will do it, but a nice one.

There isn't a lot of incentive right now to upgrade as many of the games will be on ps360 too, but at that price there would be many more just to get the upgraded gfx, and sony would get their money back in games sooner and a bigger initial gamers base than MS that could make wonders for them.

I am 5th in pre-order line at my preferred Game store. :) Incidentally, I was in 5th place for Wuu also... Hopefully, PS4 won't be as bitter a disappointment, haha!

I didn't preorder PS3. Had to hunt around for a month. Finally found it in BestBuy, hidden one shelf away from the console area. One of the salespersons must have reserved it for himself. :-/

There's a thread on GAF saying the YouTube DS4 video says PSEYE is sold separately. I suppose they could mean from the controller itself, but if it's the console, that will keep the BOM down.

As I posted in the other thread, the disclaimer doesn't make sense as an explanation. It doesn't mention need of a PS4 which is necessary to use the DS4. If the camera comes with the console, why claim it's sold separately? You'll already have one when you go to use your DS4.

Edit: The disclaimer only appears on the vid on the US PlayStation website. It could be that the video was rolled out, someone from legal department facing the intriguing US legal system thought they'd better cover their backs, and they slapped a standard, ill-considered disclaimer on the end. So it's no conclusive, but it does challenge the view that PSEye++ is included with every console.

I don't think it was challenged. The first part of the disclaimer specifically described that the product in question is the DS4 (which is a complete product in it's own right and most probably CAN be connected to a PC if you like), and NOT the PS4.
We should also take note that this video is about the DS4 specifically, instead of the PS4 as a whole, as much as they talked about functions that require a PS4 to work.

The second part then states that the PSEye is sold separately from the product in question, which, if we go by the top part of the argument, is the DS4, not the PS4.

Selling the PSEye apart from the DS4 is not a issue is it?

Selling stand-alone PSEyes also don't invalidate it as someone may break one and need to buy a new one.

Your opinion though would also preclude them from bundling a PSSEye in a PS4 which is just as silly.

I agree, this is probably an overreach cya.

In the end, a disclaimer is not a spec sheet.

I don't really disagree, but I also am not 100% convinced. Sony clearly aren't advertising this produce for anything other than use with a PS4. There's no guarantee it'll even work with PC. Ergo there's no interest in this product outside of with a PS4. And if that PS4 has a camera, why advertise the camera needs to be bought separately. My fundamental problem with your POV is that it's not an advert for a DS4 controller. It's actually a video about one of PS4's features. The other version doesn't mention the camera at all, as just a showcase video, the assumption being it's part of the package.

Looking at other vids, I don't know what to think. In the same set there's a vid for Diablo 3 that doesn't say anything about needing extra controllers, sold separately, for couch coop. Why did this one version of this one vid get a special disclaimer?

I would just stick to what Eurogamer says for now.
They may just be repeating an assumption. I don't recall Sony explicitly stating the camera was in the box.
Also as far as I can tell PSE is needed otherwise PS4 can't track the "light bar" of the DS4.
That's an added feature at the moment. You can live without it; you can buy the camera to add controller tracking. Unless of course games can rely on the camera for controller tracking and 3D controller input options.
