they heavily modified the engine, all of the "next gen" features that added themselves

It looks "Ok" by "next-gen" standards. Lots of games we've seen are better. It looks utterly terrrible when you consider that these games were right at the top graphically on Xbox... these are nowhere close (though aren't they coming out with a "real" sequel or whatever?)

Yeah this is pretty much Xbox 1.5. The engine is the spiffed up Xbox engine. The next one should be the true next gen one.

What I love about Splinter Cell though is the set pieces. They played through the whole game in the recent OXM (not reviewed yet though) they mentioned things like being on top of a Shanghai skyscraper in the midst of a new years fireworks display.
