New PDZ Movies!

It could be from the same build, and from the/some closed door presentation, that it is not suposed to be saw by the public.

Basing negative feedback and comments based on comments by people on forums is... is... is just wrong. Unless dealing with a reliable source (interview, 1st person verification, etc) it is best to keep comments, ESPECIALLY those based on what was said by some fruit loop on a forum, to ourselves.

B3D is above that kind of banter.

Also, it can't be E3's build, since at E3 they demoed only multiplayer.

I believe the retailer conference was held early last week so the LATEST this build can be from would be around the 18th of September though its likely it was from earlier than that. I figure we will see a build with roughly another month's worth of work done to it come Oct 4. Whether it will be much better than this or not reamins to be seen but if the animation stuff gets sorted out, this looks fantastic. The thought of it improving graphically may be too much to handle.

Just saw the clips. If they fix the physics / death animations / whatever, I'm ready to pre-order. And I'll probably buy it even if they don't.

Edit: I could believe that the physics were mostly off after wathing that again. The guys she kills seem to just go limp when they die and don't really seem to be bothered with actual physics.

I never said it did not need work. Actually, I said it was stiff and did not look good. I actually dedicated at least a paragraph to that issue.

Seems you just want to argue with me, even if I agree.

No seems to me you want to argue with me. I actually do agree with you somewhat. You said yourself that the ragdoll physics are over the top. Well I don't like the over the top look. I would like to think that a more realistic death would be better.

I "think" hes talking about the "over-the-top" rag doll effect (when killed, like in Half Life 2). I like that effect....but the bodies become a little to mushy for me. Like every bone in their body was broken :p

I just watched the 5 part video and it didn't looks too bad. At least it looks like a full fledged game and not just a rushed launch demo. But it shows it's last gen roots. Other than the effects I dont see anything that couldn't be done on Xbox.
Id probably buy this game if I were getting a 360 at launch though.

Out of curiosity what do you consider the "last gen roots"? I say color palette though thats not a technical thing but rather an art thing... what do you mean? Alot of times I think our knowledge of where and when a game was designed colors our opinions a bit... Just trying to understand your perspective.

Really, the footage makes me scratch my head because it is clear that IGN and some others saw something similar to this at E3. MS's choices in demo footage (green-light poorer version of PDZ, red-light better version PDZ, PGR3 E3 no show, ignored Ruby tech demo) is really something of amazement.

I agree that PDZ seems to show some Xbox roots (like Kameo), but looking over at my shelf of high end FPS from the last 12 months and looking at what is in store I am guessing if PDZ looks as good as it appears (hard to tell in small pics) then I woud rate it a step above HL2, D3, FarCry, etc. Not bad for a port. Seeing as all three of those named titles are making it to the Xbox1 it gives me encouragement that the new consoles will be seeing some pretty nice games from the PC over the next 5 years. As dev tools, tricks, and the minimum bar raises we will get some treats.

What i'm wondering is where do we go from here. The things where seeing is really amazing....but how more technically visually powerful can a game get? More detail in textures? Visually I see that where at a point where something else has to be inovated. I truely believe that something else needs to up the anti instead of just the visuals.
