Well IMHO, the graphics seen in actual gameplay on the XBOX 360 rivals the trailers, photos and demos seen to date. It would be nice to know how much of the sytems resources were being used in that build.

    EDIT:

Oh yeah, dukmahsik thanks for the link the game looks great.

There's nothing wrong with the animation in this game at all. people are equating the death sequence which isn't even an animation, with the entire animations in the game needing to be improved. I don't ageree. The death sequence is a physics based animation, obviously designed to be over the top. I actually like the way it looks. it reminds me of old sega arcade shooters.

mckmas8808, well then your mind isn't going to change. I know I'll be enjoying this game when it's out.

As will I, I'm still semi-reeling over the closeup of the brick wall in the first video. That just really made me go wow for some reason. Also, I can see the animations being like that for a reason...but I would like more realistic death sequences...the ones shown don't have that much oomph to them.

That brick wall looks like it came straight from the UE3.0 demo. :p

Overall, the environments are looking great.

Parallax mapping is a beautiful thing. If one special effect gets overused this generation (think lense flare, bloom etc.) I hope its that one. Bricks have never looked so sexy.

Cant really make much out of the gameplay yet but Im digging the SiN like art style a lot. Rare may have finally paid off for MS after all these years.

    About the physics and AI:

"Here is another cool movie that focuses on the shooting aspect of the game. It is worth clarifying that in this debug build many physics were turned off as well as the enemy AI. We suggest you to pay attention to Joanna’s animation, the size of the city and viewing distance. "

Are those bricks really suppose to look sexy?:???:

Yeah you know it's bad that I think this game could get anything between a 8 trough a 9. :???: I've pretty much said the game should be a winner so what's the problem?

I'm impressed by the potential. The gap has always been there for the console FPS/3rd person cross over game ever since the tomb raider/goldeneye era (97?). It's been done but IMO never nailed in a mainstream game. To do it well (and I mean old school Rare well...), could result in a title that shifts Xbox's.

Wow. I guess MS got pissed (or the videos were incredibly popular). And I'm stuck at work. Damn. Well X05 is just around the corner...

What I said about the effect of being hit by a bullet is true. Whether you believe it or not is irrelevant. The fact facts cannot change your mind, well...
:???: I never said it did not need work. Actually, I said it was stiff and did not look good. I actually dedicated at least a paragraph to that issue.

Seems you just want to argue with me, even if I agree.

[As for the Rare comments... take the comments of forum posters with a grain of salt. So we don't know if that is true. It obviously is an issue, but Rare has already stated they are under a severe crunch and some features are going to be cut due to this. Without knowing Rare's priorities on the product it is hard to say how the final product will ship but I wont be taking the rumors of posters at TXB very seriously!]

You really are mincing words. People are saying the animation (Dictionary: an•i•ma•tion, n., The act, process, or result of imparting life, interest, spirit, motion, or activity) of the death sequences looks odd.

It may be a different aspect of the game engine, but it still relates to the *movement* of the charactor. And this is what people are talking about, so I have no clue how you can say, "That is not animation!"

The fact you call it "physics based animation" indicates you agree it is a form of animation. But wait, death sequences are not animation. No one is argueing that they are the same form animation, but the end result on screen--the animation of the character--is in question.

Really, I like over the top ragdoll. Oh well, when we get higher quality video of the final product I will say more on this.
