Yeah that uncanny valley and Shifty post are freakishly similar. Whats more surprising to me is that Shifty probably thought of that without reading the article.

Shifty your respect meter goes up in my eyes. We and pretty much everyone else can look at this screenshot and tell that something is really wrong with it. Maybe its the screenshot and if we see it in motion it would look better. :? I don't know.

I that motion blur I see (visible on the jersey) ...or is it a bad capture?

The way those models are built is that the jerseys are applied separate from the body and I imagine that they just have not gotten that far in the texture dept. yet.

It's got really bad consistency for a start, you have a reasonably realistic head, but look at the mans shoulders and the colouration of his skin next to his neck. It's got like this greenish yellow translucent(sp?) look to it. If you crop out the rest of the image then the guys face looks ok (although he has a dopey expression).

I'm not so sure if this is the uncanny valley, but the guys skin is quite unsettleing.

Its official, EA cant do good textures, they focused too much on the Ps2 this gen, now they cant work with good textures.

Man that sh*t is f'ed up. EA is showing us that they will suck in with graphics next gen. Mostly everybody else is showing us some promise, but EA is not. So, so sad.

That looks good, number 36 [ forgive me I am not a BB fan so i don't know his name, I hate all sports outside of football] looks great, the detail is great if that's how the player models will look i have notting to complain about.

I don't like the crayron looking arms. They just look WAY WAY off. Number 36 a.k.a Rasheed Wallace's tattaoos does look nice though. The headband looks nice too. Its just the skin. It looks bad.

Look at it good I am no expert, but I would say the lighting is all messed up in the pic, look at wallace's face the texture looks great because he's looking down, now the other guy the texture looks like crappy plastic, because the of the light, give them a few more months they should have the lighting fixed.

It's pretty obvious that EA is capable of very good textures when there are only two characters on screen ie Fight Night.
