It looks good enough to me but then I thought that the graphics in Disgaea were fine as well. I'm not denying that good graphics can't add to a game but at the end of the day if the game plays like shit I'll quickly lose interest. One of the reasons why I prefer Pro EVo Soccer 4 on the ps2 to the FIFA games as IMO the gameplay is alot better in the PES series. Also probably why I still play stuff like StarCraft and Age of Empires to this day(though may be I'm the only one  )

I dont think good gameplay should PRECLUDE graphics that look even halfway respectable.

True, but I honestly don't think that the graphics are that bad. Certainly not from the screenshots I've seen in this thread. Then again I'm not as clued up on all these rendering techniques and shit as some people on here are (no jokes) so I wouldn't know if the graphics are as appalling as some people are making out. To my untrained eye it looks good enough.

I'm sorry but this, on a GC, is totally unacceptable. It might be just a very bad shot, one instance in the whole game (that has to be seen), but that's something i wouldn't even expect from a Dreamcast.

The game might be the best game in the whole Universe, but seen how this is a game from Nintendo, who should know their platform better than anyone else, and seen what amazing things the GC can do and has done since launch day, seen how "easy to program for" GC is, it's just plain bad.

The main problem i do see is the total lack of decent design, coupled with the total lack of inventiveness on how to use the GC hardware properly. And this is from Nintendo. Meh...
They must have drained their brains with Zelda.

yes and as you count the game that make your fisherprice gamecube worth owning on 1 hand, xbox owners and ps2 owners are trying to decide which games to buy because they have such a great selection. their games are fun without looking like they were made for the nintendo 64.

hovz, you're treading on shaky ground there. There are many excellent games on all platforms that you are obviously overlooking. Just because this one game shown in this thread has pictures that resemble 3dfx level technology froma few years back does not mean that GCN has only a handful of select games that are worth a buy. Many on here would argue with you that Xbox offers nothing to them and don't see a reason thatw oudl warrant a purchase. There is no need to flame away.

Its one of those game where it looks better when its moving.

When you get to play it, it'll be one of the better looking game on GC.

Yes, the graphics are more functional, then down right gorgeous, but still, its one of a better looking game to come out for GC.

Still I don't remember Klonoa 2 and Shattered Steel on PS2 to look better than this. On Dreamcast there was Naple's Tale and a Donald Duck game, and that didn't look better than this either.

The game controls with the bongo, that come with Konga, and the game rocks, well after you break through the weirdness of the control.

    Blah blah blah blah.

Do you own a GCN? How many GCN games have you played? Until you can answer those questions there is no need to respond to your fisherprice or game selection "comments".

The fact is this is a handfull of still screenshots. We do not even know if these are the most impressive graphical shots (often screenshots are to show off the gameplay or unique things). The first 2 shots have a unique look and are clean. While the GCN has beeter looking games, I would not be passing judgement on this until I tried it in motion. V3 said a lot of stuff goes on while playing... I swear, some of you get all bent out of shape when it comes to companies, like Nintendo, that you do not like. Calm down!

Ps- This is OBVIOUSLY not a N64 game... it has no "Super Screen Blur" technology!

I think that it looks fine.

This is obviously not a top-tier game from Nintendo's perspective (even though it may be just as fun as one) so I don't see why Nintendo is criticized for giving it less devtime on the graphics or shifting it to one of their less experienced teams (whichever is happening). Its like saying Oh noes, bust a move 3000 has bad graphiX!!!

I'm still looking forward to it. Oh, and Dreamcast games don't feature bump-mapping and fur-shading.

Oh and hovz: Its a pity that all the exclusive content worth playing that M$ can muster can be summed up in Halo 2, and Ninja gaiden. Xbots can keep their radioactive brick and its sub-par shovelware.

WHOAMG, trolling sure is entertaining for everyone. Catch my next book: Trolling for fun and profit, on sale now!

Note: Xbox actually has many excellent games, this is just an example of how the curtain of bias can inflict a wicked shortsightedness :p

I'm not attempting to show my bias, all those screens are not the best I agree. (esp. the lizard & snowball one is hideous) Conversely, some of them look quite good. But I've played the game, & to say the majority/all of the PS2's games/platformers look better than this is sheer madness. All games have had bad screen captures, this is not how you judge a game's comprehensive visuals.

This is the first game from the newly opened Tokyo studio, and it wasn't a big budget game either, so we can, somehow, understand that it's not a great accomplishment on the graphic side of the project.
And when you add to the equation that this is a Nintendo game, and therefore not subject to be a graphic showcase, then the result is that you, really, have to understand why the game fail to impress graphically.

The gameplay is really where the game shows its singularity, since you play the game with bongos. And judging from the first reports, the game seems to be quite enjoyable.
