The 216 gflops number is the number of programmable flops (flops coming from simd+scalar arangements of generalized MAD units), meaning that this number is fairly comparable to the general purpose number of the Cell cpu. In addition, the control, scheduling, and load balancing logic in Xenos is fairly advanced too.

Yes, but in relation to the two consoles comparing one's CPU perforamnce to another's GPU performance is pretty mindless. I go tthe impression LunchBox was saying "200GFLops? XB360's as powerful as PS3!!" whereas those GFlops are different to CPU GFlops in what they power.
