I find it rather embarassing when something like this happens:

_xxx_ (phone rings): "Hello?"
Girl: "Hi!"
_xxx_: "Hi! Who's there?"
Girl: "It's me, Anna!"
_xxx_: "Oh, hi! Ahem, which one?"
Girl: *click*...

Of course you always know at least 5 girls named Anna with no memorable surname...

That's why i keep pretty much EVER number i get, just in case someone calls, at least i know who it is and i can avoid unwanted incoming calls.... err....

Its worse when someone has just got a new phone, or is ringing from someone elses and you have that

"dude its me"
"me who?"
"this is sy right?"
"yeah"
"umm, its me!"
"ME WHO?!"

I get that all the time. I've had a tonne of people ring up for "sy" and I go "yeah thats me", they go "you sure?" and I go "yeah", they go "oh I think i've got the wrong sy"... I mean WTF!

hehe...i can feel _xxx_ situation here also...i have habit to delete numbers every now and then, just cause i cant even recall who the fuck that is....

having 5 Sandra's or Ana's in phonebook doesnt help much, now i started to add things like place where i took number or if its work related or something else.... old way of writing down just name simply didnt work....

worst thing was.... if you wanted to call one out of 5 with same bloody name, how to hell could i know which one was the one?.....

"hi, it's me, is this Ana?"
"yes"
"could you please remind me which one"
......the end.....

I guess that's the only good reason for cameras in cell phones. Attach a picture to each number, and you're much more likely to remember her/him. (L-b: If it makes it easier to remember, it doesn't have to be a picture of the face.)
