My name is Paul, I'm 16, and I have a drinking problem.

2-ish.

He's a lightweight if two pints of hard cider equivalent is making him numb.

Defintely, just another teen learning the balance of alchol, as long as he's not throwing money at his mother anymore it doesn't sound like a problem.

A proper (Imperial) pint is 20 fluid ounces = 568 ml.

None of your namby-pamby American 'pints' here. ;)

That's my biggest argument against full metrification here in the UK - I just know those bastards running pubs would cut the drink size down to half a litre! :devilish:

Whats worse is now, it is quite common for canned beers to come in 440ml which is even less still (although not quite pepsi or coke small)

Ah well, I don't drink canned beer (I must be a snob)! It's either bottled or draught for me. What does irritate me is the fact that Becks beer (which I don't actually like, luckily) is charged at a premium yet the bottles you buy in pubs are actually only 275ml instead of the standard 330ml! What a rip-off! It's not just the foreigners doing it, though. Bottles of Dog (i.e. Newcastle Brown Ale) are now only 500ml, I believe, when they used to be a full pint.

Stella used to have the tag line "reasurringly expensive" then they notice it sold really well where it was cheapest or when they did offers. So they dropped it to about 50p above the cheapo crap (ie carling and carlsberg) and its been teh best selling beer by miles for a few years now.

That's not cool man, you must have had an incredibly high BAC. Usuing one of the quick java calculators on intox.com puts you at .305. (Granted, I don't know what kind of shots you were doing). Still, that's getting up close to the poisoned range. Your lucky your such a big guy, according to that same chart I'd be at .534 if I drank that much!

Wetherspoons pubs charge different prices depending on whereabouts in the country they are located. Obviously, the most expensive are in central London. The cheapest (and usually roughest) are in poorer areas.

If you're going out on a proper session, Wetherspoons pubs are certainly good place to do the warm-up and food is usually OK, too.

Nite_Hawk

started off with vodka then did some whisky (my fav) then went on to some 151 and a mind eraser .

Then the girls wanted to do godiva (sp?) shots .

Yea it wasn't that cool. I never felt that bad in my life. But its the only time i've done something that stupid.

Now i may have 21 or 22 shots in a night but the night starts at 6pm and ends at 2am

I've been to quite a few, and its usually only in trainstations theyre more expensive (although I've never been to one in central London). I've been to one in croydon, bath, birmingham, leeds, manchester, halifax, bradford and a few others i cant think of. Food is nearly always good and its an ideal place to start the night because you can talk...

(...and this will open up a whole new chapter to this thread)

Personally i much prefer doing drugs than getting drunk. Not often and not a lot, but it's far better on my body that drinking liters of fluid that makes u fat, sick, smelly and sleepy.
